melissa809:  No, she gave an opinion as we all have. What makes you think she wants any weight loss advice from you? Oh I know… you assume because she’s admittedly on the heavier side you can speak down to her? Is this how you react and speak to people in real life? I can’t deal ….

Much ado about nothing. Sounds like you are just sensitive about your weight, which I understand, but it’s not the bridal store employees’ fault.

melissa809:  Wow. Not everyone wants to lose weight, nor is everyone who is overweight that way because they’re eating the wrong things or not exercising enough.

People questioning your size wasn’t necessary, but your comment about how another poster could lose weight without them asking was COMPLETELY uncalled for.

melissa809:  And your posts make you sound like an angry person…and lo and behold you admit that you are obese….unless you’re 6 foot 5…and you doubt that I’m the size I say I am

First off, because I am overweight I must be an angry person? Secondly, I did not doubt you were the size you say you are until you said you wore a size 4/6. You, yourself, said in your original post you are a size 8. Stating that their sizing is off does not matter, you put that out there thinking we would say “Oh she must be smaller than she said she was in her first post so the store has to be WAY off.” I never said I was a size smaller than was possible or than what I had said in a previous post.

You are the one fat shaming, assuming I want to lose weight and not happy with myself. I am very with happy my life and myself. IF I wanted to lose weight, as stated before I would do so in a way that works for me, not that someone else who knows nothing about my life and what is easy for me.

Also, she started with the bitchiness first?

You sound like my children when arguing “She hit me first!” Sounds the same.

Like I said, you got mad because you didn’t get the responses you wanted here and flew off the handle at the first person who dared to question your contradictory statements.

melissa809:  I can’t believe you just called another poster obese in order to insult her. That was really uncalled for.

And no one asked for weight loss tips from you, so it was really rude to dish them out. I think you owe her an apology.

This has gone too far and the unsolicited diet tips and obese comment were definitely uncalled for but I would be pretty insulted if people were making sarcastic comments about how I couldn’t possibly fit into a certain size because my mom/friend or whoever wears a bigger size.

MeandMyLouboutins:  I totally agree that they probably orders the right size for her. But just to play devil’s advocate, when I weigh 170 I am between a size 8 and 10. Not sure if OP said her height but I’m about 5’6. Bodies are so weird….

melissa809:  I think they’re just going by the charts. Obviously it is much harder to fix the dress if it’s too small, everyone would rather err on the side of too big because that is easier to be fixed. In addittion Many brides say they will lose weight and don’t. If you know you will, that’s great, but they don’t know that. Don’t take it personally or assume malice.

princesserbear:  absolutely! My comment wasn’t to say it’s impossible but to give another point of view that the sizing may not be as off as she thinks. Everyone is shaped differently and has different weight distribution but it seems like a bit of a stretch that a size 8 wedding dress (which is normally already 1-2 sizes smaller than usual) would be the right size given that weight. As anopther PP mentioned I think the OP is concious or even sensitive about her weight (we all are) but her reaction to those in the store as well to the poor PP who was giving an opinion was atroticous.

MeandMyLouboutins:  no, it totally agree. I didn’t mean to “disagree” with you at all. More of a “bodies are cray” moment! Also, I just read beyond that initial comment when the OP called another Bee obese. NOT COOL  Also, should have clarified I meant street size 8-10.   Pretty sure my month-old corpse wouldn’t be a bridal size 8.

I think the OP is concerned abor the cost of the alterations because the dress will hAbe to be taken in a few sizes. I’m 5’9 at 150 lbs and can wear a size 6 in jeans. Everyone carries weight differently.

And OP, I dont think you’re over reacting. It’s simply about money having to be spent. I also gained weight with Fiance too. Darn those happy pounds. Cardio and diet will melt it away. Good luck OP!
