(Closed) Bridal shop won't refund me. Is this right?

Usually dress sales are final. Good luck if you do try to sell it! Your happiness may be worth the loss in $. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Chelwilly:  Since you have nothing in writing that was given to you that says all sales are final, and if there is no signage in the store saying as such, then you may be able to go over their heads and get a refund, it will probably take some serious fighting though. I guess it depends on the price of the dress and how much that hassle is worth it to you.

Or just sell it online because you’ll probably be able to if it’s unworn

My first dress was a sample on sale for $99.  They would not refund/exchange it even though I purchased my third and final dress from the same shop.  It was a “all sales are final.”  The second dress came from David’s Bridal.  It was discounted and discontinued but they accepted an exchange only after the lady got a little rude with me and told me they do not give refunds.  I ended up exchanging it there for my Bridesmaid’s dresses even though I didn’t originally want their dresses from there.  I took what I could get!

I don’t think you’re naive at all and don’t think you should take the loss. Go back and talk to the manager, ask to see anything you signed indicating it was a final sale. Just remember to be calm and polite. If they are unable to produce the proper paperwork (their burden not yours) then tell them you would like a full refund. Did you pay by credit card? If so and they refuse to issue the refund (provided they are unable to prove it’s a final sale) call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
