I’m going to try on wedding dresses next weekend for the first time and have no idea where to start. To be honest, I’m a little intimidated by the process. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on friendly, reasonably priced bridal shops in or around LA? Thank you in advance!

I really enjoyed Belle Bridal and the Saks in Costa Mesa. Saks definitely wasn’t reasonably priced, but they weren’t pushy at all and extremely friendly. Belle Bridal was ridiculously not pushy, and they were reasonably priced.

In looking for my dress, I went to three places (the Bridal Suite on Ventura Blvd in the Valley, Monique Lhuillier & Claire Pettibone). What I liked about going to those three is that they all had very different vibes. Claire Pettibone is a must, in my opinion, because you get such personal attention and they don’t do the hard sell. They let you try on every dress and generally, you’re the only customer there. Also, they really help you find what you’re looking for (even when you don’t even know!) Monique’s is an experience (very crowded when I went and I was shy about trying on all the dresses I wanted), but very couture. The Bridal Suite was nice because it’s down to earth and has a lot of different designers. Hope this helped!

I really liked Jinny’s Bridal in Huntington Beach. The staff was very friendly and didn’t treat you differently when they find out you want to purchase a dress for under $1000. PLUS they let you take pictures before you buy a dress!

Depends where in LA… Try projectwedding.com or ask the gal’s on the LA knot boards, they will overwhelm you with info.
