I am having one bridal shower – thrown for me by friends of my family in my hometown. When the hostesses asked me for my guest list, I asked my Future Mother-In-Law who she wanted to invite. Let me preface this by saying most of his family lives out of state – MOST – but not all. Several of them live within an hour or so. My Future Mother-In-Law told me she thought it would be rude to invite family to both the wedding & the shower b/c they would feel obligated to buy 2 gifts reguardless if they were able to attend the shower. So she requested I not send any invitations to the bridal shower to anyone but her & my FH 2 sisters.
@ dinner tonight fmil tells me that she wont be coming to the bridal shower b/c she MIGHT have to baby sit. And I know for a fact the sisters won’t be coming b/c the fmil has made it clear they had other things to do .. ..
SO – point of my post – how would you react? What do I do? I’ve never been to a bridal shower where NO ONE from the groom’s family is there. . ..I know I can’t MAKE them come. . ..but. . .well. . .I guess I’m just venting. It really REALLY hurts my feelings that they don’t care!!!
