Just curious if any of you are having a shower/bach. party. Has anyone offered to throw you one, or do they think you just don’t want it?
I really love hosting showers. I’m not sure about being on the receiving end though. Besides, I really don’t want/need extra gifts.

Some of the ladies at my mom’s church hosted a bridal shower for me. I didn’t really want one, mainly because I don’t like to be the center of attention and didn’t want to play bridal shower games.
A friend at work threw a bach. party for me, and just invited a few friends. We stayed at her house, played cards, listened to music, and drank the night away. No gifts, but I got a penis necklace as a party favor/type thing!

Nope, noone has offered to throw me one, and Ive actually never been to one. Baby showers, yes. My sisters have threatened to kidnap me and take me to a spa, though.

- Wedding: July 2012 - Baltimore Museum of Industry
I loved both of mine, were highlights of the wedding experience. At 40, I’d been at enough showers for other people, that it was nice to be on receiving end. I felt so loved, surrounded by women I loved. And I’m a game person, so that was a “must.”
I also admit to hugging the toaster oven I received. (seriously.) The one I had was about 20 years old and on its last legs.
For my bachlorette, we did a one-hour pirate ship cruise (I wore a pirate girl Halloween costume), and then we did a little bar hopping, but nothing penis related/no tiaras, etc.

I’m having a bachelorette spa party and then dinner later that evening. It will be nice to have some down time after all the planning. Sit back relax, laugh and sink it all in…auh!! I can’t wait!! And Yess, I deserve it…we ALL do, right?! =)

Well ladies, I am going to Vegas for a ladies get away weekend. It just worked out that me and several of my friends need to be there in April for a conference anyway, so we are flying out a day early and making it a ladies fun night out on the strip. My Maid/Matron of Honor (fsil) is planning the whole event. Yay!
Fiance will be there too, with his men. We will all start together with dinner, then go our separate ways.
We were able to book some free rooms with rewards points, so everyone who needs a room to stay will have one (unless they wish to book their own).
No gifts, no penis bouquets, no strippers. Just gambling, fun, shows, etc.
I just bought a pair of go go boots to wear–so excited!

I had a bridal shower.. but I didnt want one.. My BFF, sister and mother kind of didnt give me a choice, partially because they feel I robbed them of the whole expedrience of trying on dresses and that kind of stuff… In hindsight I was so glad I had one.
