futuremrsw26:  I’m not supposed to know but I do lol my cousin is throwing me a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed bridal shower, which I think is amazing! My best friend had a tequilla shower, so everyone had margaritas. I always like the theme ones, it just makes it more fun! Now, personally I don’t like the games that everyone has to play. Bingo is one thing, but doing those games like ‘how well do you know the bride and groom’s relationship’ are painful to me.

futuremrsw26:  Instead of trying to use her wedding theme, why not do something completely different?  You said she likes margaritas, so does she also like Mexican food?  If so, you could do a fiesta themed bridal shower.

I agree with you to keep games to a minimum.  Bingo is great because people can participate if they want, but if they don’t they then don’t have to sit there and watch other people play the game.

How well do you know the bride? was my favorite game (we did not include the groom). I was able to write my answers on a board and share them as the questions were asked, and people were seriously engaged throughout. We laughed about the ways in which I had changed from what they expected. And my future mother in law won the game, which made her super happy, considering that she was playing against people who have known me all of my life 🙂

I honestly think simple is great. I loved my cake, relaxing and eating with friends, having them win some prizes, and opening my gifts. The thing I remember most is how loved and appreciated I felt by everyone, by the fact they showed up to spend an afternoon with me.

Oh, and please keep the mimosa bar. That is definitely worth repeating 🙂

futuremrsw26:  What about something fun, like an 80s themed shower? Everyone can dress up!

One thing that I’ve always liked at showers is when the host sends a recipe card with the invites and everyone brings it filled in to the shower to put in a recipe box you got for her. You could make/buy a really cute rustic looking card box with matching recipe cards. Another shower I went to did a mad libs game of the story of how they met. That was a funmy group activity. And one other game I had never seen before, the hostess got the bride a spice rack and lots of spices. She covered all the labels and we had to smell them and guess what they were and then whoever got the most right won a prize, plus the bride got to keep all the spices. We just had sheets and we could work on filling it out throughout the shower as we mingled.

I really like the PP’s fiesta theme idea. You could do a couple different margarita flavors and some Mexican appetizers (guac, salsa, avocado egg rolls, mini quesadillas or even  taco bar.) It would be really cute.
