- Wedding: April 2016 - Ed Oliver Golf Club, Wilmington, DE
I am the bride for this shower, but the majority of my bridesmaids are long distance, so I ended up helping my Mom select a place and menu. I wanted opinions on the menu, it is going to be a mid day brunch about 12 start time.
For Drinks: We will be having normal soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea, etc. and one of the bridesmaids is doing a mimosa bar!
First, there will be a salad course; which will include caesar, house, and a special (spring mix with nuts, craisins, and a champagne vinaigrette) all of this will be served family style.
Next, there will be an appetizer course; which will include arancini (my favorite) which is fried risotto balls that we have requested be stuffed with chicken and spinach. The other appetizer will be a grilled polenta with a truffle porcini sauce. Again, served family style.
For the first main course, there will be a variety of frittatas (cheese with ham, cheese with spinach, etc) which will be served plated as the person requests their type and also a french toast that will be served family style.
For the second course, there will be my favorite dish at this restaurant which is a penne aurora (penne pasta with peas, prosciutto, and a pink sauce) plated individually
For dessert, there will be a variety of treats, as we own a candy shop, and our worker / cousin is a baker, so a spread including cake/ chocolate strawberries/ french macarons (my fav!) and maybe some other surprises.
I think this is plenty of food, and I hope it is a good variety..
How does this sound to you?? Would you be happy as a guest at this shower?
