FI’s mom and grandma are invited to my bridal shower. They are super conservative and I would be embarassed if someone gives me lingerie and I have to open it in front of them…
What is a nice way of telling people not to get lingerie without sounding presumptuos or like a party pooper? I’m not anti- lingerie or sex, I just dont want to acknowledge that in front of my mom, his mom or grandma….
Was anyone embarssed to open lingerie infront of your moms or FMIL?????

I would not be embarassed in front of my mom but in front of my Future Mother-In-Law YES lol

My Mother-In-Law is the person who gave me lingerie! I was very red, but at least she has good taste!
I would just try to spread it through word of mouth. If your friends have a problem with it, tell them to bring it to the bachelorette party instead.

Do they get stuff like that for bridal showers? I thought that was more for bachlorette parties.

my grandma’s got the dirtiest mouth so i’m sure it won’t be too embarrassing lol

Just ask your Maid/Matron of Honor and BM’s to spread the word.

Maybe you could do a theme shower? Like kitchen or receipes or something. That way people will know what type of gifts to get, plus register for lots of small shower gifts.

I didn’t get any lingerie at my shower – the invites said to bring something for the kitchen. My cousin didn’t get any at hers either – we asked people to bring hawaii or honeymoon themed gifts.
