bridetobe166:  So… what? They think this super girly occassion is the only time 100% of the women wear slacks? I don’t get this at all. Of course you can wear a dress. That is a bizarre statement.

bridetobe166:  I often wear dresses to bridal showers, but it really depends on the formality of the venue. If it’s a casual get-together at someone’s home, I’d probably wear jeans and a cute top or a  casual sundress. There’s nothing weird about wearing a nice dress to a bridal shower at a restaurant or more formal venue…in fact, I think it’s worse to be underdressed than overdressed.

bridetobe166:  That is a strange statement….. Did that person attend so many showers that they can say something like that?  I have been to several bridal showers and almost all the girls wear a dress.  Wear whatever you feel beautiful and special in because this is your special time!

I wore a dress to a bridal shower as a guest and I was not overdressed. I consider bridal showers more dressed-up occeasions, like what you would wear to church or a graduation.

I thought the same thing! I have only ever seen people wearing dresses at bridal showers usually. I don’t like how most dresses fit me, so I decided to go with a super cute maxi skirt and a flowy tank top 🙂

Bridal showers are what I would consider “semi-traditional church clothes”. Not the recent jeans and a shirt churches but not the traditional full suit churches either.

I guess I’d say “business casual”. I wore what I always wear to work. A pleated a-line black dress with black flats, a colored belt, and a white cardigan with sparkly sleeves.

Most people wore skirts/dresses/dress pants.
