@Kandiss16:  Usually “sexual” gifts are given at a bachelorette. If it’s a lingerie party, that is generally indicated on the invite. If it’s just a regular bridal shower, usually you get gifts from your registry or household gifts in general.

For instance- we just had my BFF’s bridal shower this weekend. She got a lot of stuff from her registry, some cash & gift cards, a “bridal emergency kit” and some nice household things not from her registry.

Did you receive an invite to your shower? That should give a pretty good indication for the type of shower it is.

@Kandiss16:  LOL Yeah I wouldn’t worry. They are generally pretty tame.

Intimates-themed bridal showers are usually stated as such on the invite. If it’s not, it’s assumed it is the “normal” kind.

Most people gift off the registry. In my circle, it is common to get frames/vases/other non-essentials from the registry. If people gift off the registry, it’s usually something sentimental for the home or for the bride herself.

It’s possible to recieve some inappropriate gifts.  Just went to one last September and the gal got some stuff for the bedroom but she smiled and didn’t hold those gifts up for all to see.  There were children there.  I think it’s kind of inappropriate for people to give those gifts at a bridal shower where there are children but people will be people.  It’s probably unlikely that it will happen but it’s possble.

I wouldn’t worry too much.  It will probably be your registry gifts, and if it is sexual in nature, people will laugh and you move on, that’s all.

FWIW, at my shower, every item was off my registry or something I’d need in a new house.

@Kandiss16:  You don’t need to make a seperate registry. The BB&B one is fine.

@Kandiss16:  yep you don’t need a seperate one, but give that info to people to shop off of for the shower AND wedding.
