Well, my first shower isn’t until Saturday, but we already know who is/isn’t coming. We’re right at 2/3 of the people accepting, and 1/3 declining. But quite a bit of that is because we had some out-of-town people who were basically courtesy invitations, that we knew wouldn’t be able to attend. If you just looked at semi-local people, we are at close to 80% attendance.

I think it depends on how big of a guestlist you have.  I’ve held 3 showers for my friends and I had different outcomes on each one.  (Weather, location, season…)  Although, I would say more than 50% of the guests showed up for all of them!

I think it was about 75-80% that showed up (it was yesterday). One person’s flight was cancelled, so that was a last-minute no, but other than that, we pretty much knew from the RSVPs about a week ahead of time.

Nearly all of the locals were a "yes" (with a few that had already made other plans that weekend to be out of town) and nearly all of the out of towners were a "no". I’d say if you’re trying to guesstimate how many will be there, you could assume that 80-90% of the people within an easy drive are going to be there and only 10-20% of those that really need to travel will be there.

I’ve found that people aren’t as willing to travel for showers unless they are particularly close to the bride (FMIL, FSILs, bridesmaids, etc.), though that fact may be different in different circles, I’m not sure.

My shower is on saturday, and we invited about 50 people. Out of those, only about 4 are not coming. (woo hoo!!)
