Hey Bees! I have a question! I’m getting married in Alaska where I live but my sister is throwing me a bridal shower in Denver which I grew up in Colorado. My question is every lady that’s invited to the wedding…does she send them invites? Even the people that clearly won’t make it since most people are traveling from all over. Sorry bees! She just isn’t sure! Thanks ladies!

I think of bridal showers being for close female relatives and friends. And I’ve always thought that it’s odd to invite out of town people – unless you’re talking like a grandmother or bridesmaid (someone REALLY close to you).

No, just invite those closest to you who also live in Colorado.

hikingbride : thanks! This one is just tough since I live 3000 miles away from where the shower will be!

While every person who’s invited to the shower should also be invited to the wedding, the converse isn’t true- you don’t have to invite every person who’s invited to the wedding to the shower! I wouldn’t invite people from too far out of town unless they’re a bridesmaid or a close family member, as hikingbride said.

moto5522 : Normally you only invite people to the shower if they are invited to the wedding. It’s ok if yoiu know they aren’t going to come to the wedding, but it’s generally considered important that they get an invite.
And usually for a shower you only invite those who are local to the shower, unless you are really close to the person and know they are interested in traveling (mayby a BM).
