Chaedra:  I’m having two showers. One is a kitchen theme- so my Maid/Matron of Honor asked that I have one registry that is only kitchen stuff for that shower. I don’t know what the activities will be, but I think she’s including blank recipe cards in the invitations for people to write their favorite recipe to share with me. I’m super excited about that!!

The other is being thrown by my cousins and the theme is a surprise but I suspect/hope they are doing “famous fictional couples” with my favorite books, movies and tv shows. It’s killing me because I have a TON of ideas for games but can’t help with it!

I went to a really fun Alice In Wonderland shower once. All the bridesmaids dressed in colors to represent different characters (one in green for the caterpillar, one in white for the rabbit, one in pink & purple for the Cheshire cat….) and the bride wore a baby blue dress to represent Alice. It was a tea party, of course, and the Maid/Matron of Honor had collected lots of vintage tea cups for us to drink out of/get as favors.

Mine will be a 50’s soda shop theme. We are going to have brownie sundaes, soda floats and centerpieces similar to the pic below. I also have a retro red high top table that we will use. My FI’s aunts who are throwing the shower also discussed giving heart measuring spoons as favors, since I a a pastry chef.

I just hosted a bridal shower on Sunday for my Future Sister-In-Law that was a “Something Old, Something New” theme. She loved it. We did:

Something Old: game where guests had to guess how old my brother and Future Sister-In-Law were in older photos

Something New: easy. gifts.

Something Borrowed: recipes. I got them a personalized recipe box and guests brought recipes to put in it.

Something Blue: the soap favors, the cupcakes.

Mine is going to be a summer tea party theme, so think little tea sandwiches, tea/lemonade, lots of desserts, sun dresses, and super girly-flowery-borderline-old-ladyish decorations! Haha

I had a Japanese cherry blossom-themed shower! It was my sister/MOH’s idea–since we were touching on my Italian side in the wedding theme, she thought it would be fun to play up our Japanese heritage in the shower. We even had cherry blossom cupcakes! She had such cute decorations, and everything was pink, white and brown. She even bought a cherry blossom bonsai (artificial) for me. I’m not really a pink girl, but this was seriously cute!

Chaedra:  I had 2 showers. The first one was a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme, and the second one was The Great Gatsby themed. They were both so pretty!

I hosted a “Tea Party” for my BFF’s Bridal shower.  I collected antique/vintage tea cups and tea pots that were fine bone china and doilies, pearls, and hats (Kate Middleton & Queen Elizabeth style hats).

I got so much compliments and totally looking forward to my shower – hopefully my BFF does something similar 🙂

I am having two bridal showers. My Texas shower was this past weekend. We are honeymooning in France and Italy so it had a vintage French/Italian theme. It was absolutely beautiful! They even had a photographer taking pictures for a memory book. I can’t wait to see it!!!

LoubieLove:  what website/store did you buy those French style menu cards? If you don’t mind saying, I’ve been searching for them all over and can’t seem to find them! 🙁

Chaedra:  I had a Tiffany & Co. styled bridal shower. It wasn’t themed after the movie, just Tiffany & Co. Mainly because I love the Tiffany blue color lol. My cake was a Tiffany box, there were little “diamonds” scattered all over the tables, the decor was Tiffany blue colored stuff, and the champagne flutes were blue, but other than that it was all pretty standard.

Chaedra:  Here’s a few of the food and favors! There were lanterns hanging everywhere but you can’t really see that in any of the photos.

Oh and they enlisted DH to do the fruit carving! 🙂

And here’s the shower invite:
