Oh man, the bridal shower…where to begin…in 2 weeks, I will have my first bridal shower. Its in my FI’s home town and is hosted by the church his parents are members of. So my Future Mother-In-Law calls me the other day…I have a few questions for you…ok, the 20 little old ladies that are hosting this shower want me to register at this little old store in their town…1. I’m po’d because someone is telling me where to register, 2. The town is 2 1/2 hours away and that is the only store in the state, 3. I registered at 4 different locations to give people options, they have a freaking walmart 20 minutes away…..so I told her that there was no posible way I could make it to register and that people do not have to buy off my registry. If they must shop at that one store just pick out something and I can return it if I don’t like it.
So a few days later she calls back…more bad news…the LOLs (little old ladies) told her that she should just register for me…WTH! We do not have any thing close to similar taste and why cant they just buy something… Well got the invitations today for the shower and yep, they printed that I was registered at the local store
So now I’m peeved at theses LOL’s, but thats not all. Remember, I’m a good 2 1/2 hours away and my mom is 3 1/2 hours away…They decide the shower is going to be from 10-11 but I have to be there a 9AM…9AM?…In the freaking morning, 1. who has a shower that early, 2. Did they mysteriously forget that I live so far away? So now my options are to wake up at 3:30 AM to get ready and leave for this shower, or stay in the cochroach motel thats in the town…My options are not sunshine and rainbows…
So at this point I’m just ready to get this dang shower over with….I’ve had all the bad news I can stand. Then my Future Mother-In-Law calls…”Is it ok if I buy something off your registry at another store?” Well sure, I have no problem with that except she goes on to say “Well, you registered for it, but I got you something alittle different.” I’m already to the point of blowing up over this shower, I’m sitting in my living room thinking I registered for specific things for a reason. Now she goes on to tell me that she decided that instead of the cheaper/smaller Kurig coffed maker I registered for, she got the biggest, $200 coffee maker….Now there are 2 very good reasons I registered for the one I did…1. We have vertually no cabnit space in our house, so there is no way the big one is going to sit on my cabnits. 2. We arent really coffee drinkers, I like a cup every now and then but not enough to justify a $200 coffee maker…
So thats my ranting and crying…I had to get it out to some ladies who could sympothize with me plus I can’t complain to the Fiance or Future Mother-In-Law…Actually just typing it all out and getting it out of my head makes me feel much better. Now if I can just get through the Bridal Shower From Hell!
