This might be a stupid question… but I have never been to a bridal shower and I am thinking you are supposed to bring a gift. But do you bring something for the couple, like a household item, or something for the bride herself? Thanks bees!

@jadealexaellis: Usually you bring a gift. If it’s just a general bridal shower, you buy something from the wedding registry or just a general household gift. Sometimes people do give the bride something wedding related (like a “Wedding Day kit” or gift certificate to a spa or something). If it was a lingerie party or something with a theme like “stock the bar” you would give a gift that matched the theme… but that would be pretty obvious from the invite.

@MexiPino: Yep, this. Registries are for the couple to register for gifts for the shower.

bring a gift! Check her registry and purchase something from there. If she isn’t registered somewhere, see if she’s having a theme shower.

In our circle, we typically gift from the registry. We try to gift something more frivolous at the shower and then do cash or more utilitarian items at the wedding. Frivolous = frames, vases, decorative items. Utilitarian = pots and pans, appliances.
