Mine were just held at the hosts’ homes. But for my family shower, I thought my mom was pretty creative:  she purchased a bunch of pottery that the guests could paint (bowls, plates, frames, ring holders). After the shower, she took it to get fired and then delivered it to all of the guests as their shower favor.

I had two showers. One was at my FI’s aunt’s house, the other was at my FI’s parents’ house.

We played a few dorky games, lol. The first shower was co-ed but the second was only women, so the games were slightly different for each. Otherwise we just chatted, ate delicious food and enjoyed! It was fun, but nothing out of the ordinary, I guess.

I honestly have no idea where mine is or if there is a theme! The only thing I know is it will be in the morning/early afternoon (brunch), because my friends are throwing it the Saturday before Easter (all of us are Out of Town from where my wedding will be/family lives, so this was convenient since everyone’s coming in for Easter already). I am a little nervous, but my friends are great and know me really well, so I’m sure it will be lovely!

Mine was at my parents house. We did a dual men/women shower and it was pretty low key. we played some games, ate some cake, opened presents.

@KristenGotMarried:  Yeah!!! Great mind do think alike. πŸ™‚ You’ll have so much fun! At first, all of my guests thought they were painting things for me (like, dishes for our kitchen). When they found out they got to keep their creations, they were so excited! It was cute.

Mine will be at my MOH’s community clubhouse. We are having finger foods and will probably play a few games. I don’t know all the details.

One I went to recently was at a very high end restaurant and it had a formal sitdown lunch. It wasn’t as fun as previous ones I’ve been too becuase there wasn’t much time to mingle with guests or play any fun games. We basically ate and then watched her open presents.

Yours sounds fun with the pottery making. That’s a good activity plus there’s plenty of time to talk and mingle.

@KristenGotMarried:  The girls will NOT tell me anything, lol… All I know is that the Bridal Shower and Bach. Party will be the same day (June 2nd)… It’s very exciting because I am a SUPER planner and it feels soooo strange to not be involved in the party planning…. BUT they say they got it so all I will do is show up, lol….

I have been to one bridal shower and we played games, ate of course and had some cake…. The Bride opened up her gifts, mingled with her guests, and then we left afterwards….. I was roughly a 3 hour event….

Good Luck!!

We are from the west coast and getting married out there, but we live on the east coast, so I am totally spoiled and get two!  The west coast was last month and was an AMAZING brunch and this great restaurant known for its delish food and outdoor patio.  It was three courses, and everyone had mimosas!  So perfect.

The east coast one is next month and is also a brunch (I love me some brunch).  It will be at this cool wine bar and there will be bottomless belinis!

My sister in law is throwing my shower at her new apartment. It’s very sweet of her to open up her home of less than a month to me πŸ™‚

Mine was at my Aunt’s house. My only requests were that we play NO games, drink lots of champagne, and we eat falafel. It was awesome.

Mine will be in my backyard on March 10th. So excited!

My Maid/Matron of Honor is my Future Sister-In-Law She she very reluctantly and sweetly asked if we could have it at my place since it was closer to everyone and bigger. I of coarse said yes. I mean you are having a party for ME! πŸ™‚

She mentioned the theme. I think it is something like

He loves me

He loves me not

He loves me

So, let’s tie the knot

Her husbands brothers wife is a florist and I am using her for the wedding and I just found out she is helping with the bridal shower. She is like the queen of putting on parties so I’m super excited about that too!

Edit~ I haven’t been told any details. IDK if they are keeping it a secret or what but It will probably be the same ol lunch games and presents which is good by me! πŸ˜‰
