what is your price point?  How far out on the Island are you looking to go?

1. Bridal Elegance- In Huntington- its not a giant store, but you get a lot of personal attention and they carry some good designers including Enzoani, Watters, Marisa.  I’d say their price range is 1000-4000 or so.

2. Bridal Reflections- this is where I got my dress.  There are 3 locations, two on LI and one in NYC.  They have TONS of designers, and price ranges from 2000 and upwards of tens of thousands.  LOTS of dresses! but if you have a particular dress/designer in mind call ahead because the stores I think share samples, and some stores have more of a particular designer than the others might at that time.

hope that helps!

Bridal Elegance in Huntington/Dix Hills!! HANDS DOWN BEST SHOP!  Have MARYANN pick dresses that will suit your body style and pocketbook.  All of my friends (about 11 of them) have bought their dresses there and their bridemaids dresses. (you figure about 5-7 girls per bride).  They have great service, great prices, and they work with you.  They even sent out one of my bridesmaid dresses to Illinois!!! There are a lot of things happening with the overseas dress making companies, and my dress was sent improperly twice (no fault of bridal elegance), and they took care of it and made sure that EVERYTHING was perfect.  I also had medical issues where I dropped about 25 lbs 2 weeks before my dress, and the owner reconstructed that dress to fit me like a glove!

PS, I picked the most expensive dress that they showed to me, and it was $2500.  The other 12 dresses I saw were between 700-1700.  Also, I had my veil custom made by an awesome lady in the tri community Flea Market in Nassau (cant remember the name of the little shop, right by the door)! Worth the drive, she is an older seamstress with excellent skills, and she hand made my veil with swarovsky crystal, to match my dress for $35!!!!  I loved it!  I also recommend Calvin Klein “pretty” as a wedding shoe. I bought them from Zappos, wore those shoes from about 11am-3am.  I am short, so I needed a tall heel. Hubby is 6′.  I still wear those shoes, and I LOVE them.  Great price, great quality, super comfy!!

@JMJ102411:  I had a good experience at Nouveau Bride in Merrick but stay away from the seamstress–she’s a bitch and overcharges—I read previous reviews and now I’m having my dress altered elsewhere

But other than that the experience was great

I would recommend Village Bridal in Babylon or Bridal Suite of Centereach. I live in Babylon and went to Village Bridal, and they had a great selection and were VERY open about price points, taking pictures, etc. which not all stores are. I actually found my dress here, but it was a VERY large sample, so I found Centereach who had the dress in my size (also open about price points and pictures). The plan was to go there to try it on and order from Village Bridal since I’m down the road, but I had such a wonderful experience with Laura (not kidding, best customer service. She got exactly what I was going for, but threw in some different gowns to make sure I had the right vision in my head.) I ended up buying my gown here, and for a great price.

Ultimately I’d recommend Bridal Suite of Centereach, specifially an appointment with Laura, but Village Bridal was also great. Centereach was also less expensive by around $100 or so for a few dresses.

Princess Bridal in Farmingdale. There a bunch of bad reviews online, but I have not had an issue with that store and I have known people who have gotten dresses there and everything turned out fine. I was told by others that the seamstress is really good.

Also, I had a budget of $2000 for my wedding dress and there were a TON of dresses there within my budget that I could try on. Plus, the person who was helping me was nice and didn’t pick any dress outside of my budget. In fact, the dress that I ultimately went with was over $300 under budget.
