My fiance and I were discussing attire for the bridal party, and I shared that I was thinking of having the ladies all in knee-length black dressed with red shoes and bouquets, like this:
And Mr. Oatmealpie came up with an idea that I think I love: we could have all the bridesmaids and groomsmen in black, and Mr. O and I would both be in all white. I think it would be striking and, if done correctly, classy. It’s always bugged me how so much attention is put on the bride, but the groom is almost indistinguishable from the groomsmen. As Jerry Seinfeld put it, all the groomsmen wear tuxes so that if the groom fails, the bride can just marry the next one down the line. This way, we would both stand out from the bridal party, and we’d match each other.
What do you think? Have you seen this done before? Please post links to photos if you’ve seen any.

I’ve seen the bridesmaids in black with red before and I think it looks awesome. I think it would look amazing to carry that over with the groomsmen in black tuxes with black shirts and then red vests and ties and you and your Fiance in all white!!
I also like when the groom wears a tux that has a white jacket but black pants. Very classy!!

While I don’t have a picture, my girlfriend did something similar. Her and her husband were both in all white, and the girls were in black (with orchids), and the guys in black (white shirt under their suit jacket though). Looked gorgeous!

@vibride2011 – Now I’m liking the white jacket with black pants idea, too. That looks like the classic option, given that it was sported by Humphrey Bogart and Mr. Oatmealpie’s idol, James Bond. With that knowledge, I bet I can even get him in a black bow tie.

DO IT! We did an all white tuxes for all our guys and had the groom stand out with a different color tie and chucks…
I know alot of the bees around here go against the white tux but I think it can look REALLY great! I know I was really happy with how all our guys looked =)
here are 2 picks where the grooms in white and the guys are in a different color. I think it’s brown in both but black would work too I think

Do it! Nothing classier than a crisp white tux, I always say.
