What’s the most *duh! headslap* thing you forgot to do either during your wedding day, or during preparations leading up to the wedding day?
Me? I totally forgot to tell our officiant what TIME the ceremony was!
We had a very casual, small wedding, without a rehersal because we didn’t have anyone standing with us, we only had 28 guests, and so we figured we’d be fine without a rehersal. We sent out our very casual ‘invites’ to people after we booked our reception site, but before nailing down where we wanted to have the ceremony. Because 95% of them are family, and we knew we’d see everyone between sending out invites and the wedding date we thought we were good to go with just giving people word of mouth info for the quick ceremony. After we found the place we wanted to have the ceremony, I gave our officiant the address to the park and THOUGHT I gave him the time. Because I didn’t give him the time he thought I was just re-giving him the reception address and assumed we were doing it at the restaurant at the time on the invite (6pm). Thankfully because everyone there was family, or basically family, we used the time at the park for pictures of us as well as pictures with family and just did the ceremony when we got to the restaurant. But yeah, totally a “how did I forget that” type of moment.

We had a catholic ceremony and forgot our filled out Together For Life form (which plans out the ceremony) not once, but twice! We lived 3 hours from the ceremony location and forgot the form at our home and then, when the priest game us a second book, we filled out the form again after the rehearsal dinner and left the book at the reception hall (we did pictures here in the morning prior to the ceremony). Thankfully we realized early enough that someone was able to go back and get it and they were able to get to the church 15 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, but seriously, how did we forget our ceremone outline TWICE?

Fortunately, I didn’t really forget anything majorly important. I did forget to buy inserts for my wedding shoes though and because of it I had to spend much of the wedding night with pain in my feet cuz my shoes were so uncomfortable.

We forgot to thank our guests for coming. We meant to make a little speech before cutting the cake and totally forgot. Oh well–these things are bound to happen, right?

@gardendahlia: We forgot this too! We meant to give a quick little speech but forgot. We did get around to talk to each guest individually and thanked them then, so I’m sure no one thought much of it.

I forgot my veil at home. Thankfully we lived close to the hair salon and my brother brought it.
We forgot to ask my husband’s cousins to bring up of the gifts at church. Which resulted in a loooooooong pause at the ceremony while the priest waited to receive the bread and wine.

I forgot to put on ANY jewelry!!! I can’t believe I did that, but I don’t even care now.
We also forgot to give our officiant the little paragraph to read before our unity sand ceremony, so we just tried to gracefully transition into it, LOL!
