YES! I will be a bride of a Marine. So excited! My bridesmaids are wearing midnight blue and he will be in dress blues. Flowers are very deep red roses. We are trying to include a lot of Marine traditions like the sword arch, cutting of our cake with his sword and doing a small, empty table with a couple of place settings to honor those who have fallen.

Good luck!

This is a girl that’s a friend of some friends.. I thought her wedding was pretty. She pulled the red and yellow out for her wedding. I made an inspiration board for ya. I thought her wedding was pretty. I’m marrying a marine, but not doing any marine related color schemes, but I still think this is pretty! πŸ™‚

Congradulations to my fellow Marine fiances. Im so happy for you guys…well ladies. My finace and I are so excited but nervous at the same time. Im plaanning the wedding and its nerve wrecking. I want everything to be perfect but I cant decide on a lot of things. Maybe someone cane make some suggestions on how I should decorate the church and reception hall. The color scheme is red and white. he’s gonna wear his dress blues as well. All suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance

I love red white and blue as colours, but they just don’t suit me at all πŸ™ (I like paler, pastel or earth colours) but we really wanted Fi to wear his blues, so we’ve gone for a vintagey 1940s look with all the ushers in blues too and matching style-wise rather than colours if that makes any sense?

I’m marrying a marine, too. My favorite color is red, his is blue. I think the red/white/blue theme is awesome. Also, we’re marrying the 4th of July weekend.

My bridesmaids are a little less into blue, but the dessy group has some nice purple blues that look blue and purple at the same time. That with a more wine red looks surprisingly classy.

I wish I had thought about pulling the yellow in to our colors.  Ours are pewter, navy and silver/white for accents.  Marine uniforms are hard to color match.  I’m using an old pair of his blues trousers for the wrap of my bouquet.  We aren’t having any major overt Marine things though – our cake has some marine things and in our registry we’ve asked people to donate to the wounded warrior project in our honor.  That’s about it.

I’m going to incorporate the letters we wrote each other when he was deployed.

ALSO we’re doing red, blue and gold.

@ellabee: I’m marrying a Marine and we’re doing red, blue, and gold as well! I think I’m going to do blue dresses (possibly with gold bows/accents?) with red flowers (wrapped in gold ribbon), and probably gold vests with red bouts for the civilian groomsmen.

I’m working on an inspiration board at home, but I’m at work at the moment… I’ll post it when I’m done!
