Any advice on how to kept my head up and stay positive. I feel like I’m being weighed down and will break before the wedding due to stress. How are you girls finding the energy and staying positive during your planning?

I understand these feelings. Overall, I did NOT enjoy the wedding planning process. I found that having a specific day during the week to work on wedding stuff was helpful. I tried to limit wedding planning to just one or two days a week and take the other days off from wedding stuff. At first it was hard to do, but in the long run it paid off. I was focused during the designated time and could relax on the other days.
Maybe you should let your Future Mother-In-Law go with the guys to pick out suits. Hopefully your Fiance will get his fill of her micromanaging and tell her to step back. You won’t have to go, and she feels like she is helping.

@blayne7: Good advice. I’ll try the allocating of days per week and have wedding free days, sounds good. Planning can really take over your life otherwise.

@bridetobe7844: What are you finding stressful in particular? If you were more specific (ex: too many DIY crafts, can’t find vendors… stress with parents, etc etc) then I think there would be more than enough sympathy and advice from all the wonderful ladies here!

I think most people go through this stage – what worked for me was having a complete break, for me it was just over a week I didn’t think or do anything wedding related and then I was happy to get back into it again 🙂 This happened to be about 6 months before the wedding which it looks like you have that much time now!
@blayne7: I agree with having 1 night per week. My Fiance and I did the Catholic Marriage Course early on, on a Monday night and then when it stopped we still had Monday’s as our wedding night where we made new weekly goals and talked about how everything was going – it helped a lot! Of course we talked during the week as well but it helped to know we had 1 night dedicated to it.
