I’ve seen a lot of people give each other gifts on their wedding day.
We’d really like to do that (especially since we’re getting married on our 5th anniversery) but I’m not having much luck thinking of what to get. Fiance said he wouldn’t mind a watch but he’s never worn one before so we are going to get him a cheap one to see if he likes it. I personally don’t want a watch and I don’t wear jewellery, other than my engagement ring and a bracelet he got me for our 6 month.
So my question is does anyone have any ideas what we can exchange on our wedding day. Doesn’t have to be matchy or anything. Just looking for some nice ideas.

I looked online and saw some pretty interesting gift ideas…
- Boudoir photos from you or letter (I know not original)
- One bride got her husband a crystal baseball of the sports team he likes
- shot gun shell cuff links from etsy – if he likes hunting
- A vintage smoking jacket – or a jacket from his favorite sports team
There is a cufflink that you add your photo inside!

@happyface: They are so pretty. Unfortunately Fiance never wears a suit or fancy clothes. Except for the wedding I guess.
He’s not really into sport (thankfully because it doesn’t interest me) and he doesn’t really read much. Has a few books he likes but that’s it.
I like the idea of boudiour photos but I think I’d just be too embarressed. Also Fiance ends up laughing if I try to be sexy. He finds me sexy when I’m acting like a dork.
@russian_doll: I like the book idea for me. I’m a massive bookworm. I don’t really have one that I love like that though. Maybe LOTR?
Any bride presents? He has no idea what to get me and I haven’t been any help.

I got Fiance an engraved pocketwatch. He won’t get much use out of it but he really wants one and it will look great in photos. I’m getting the boxed engraved so he can display it in his “man cave.” He also has his grandfather’s pocketwatch displayed.
I actually bought my own gift as well. I bought a silver heart compact from Things Remembered. He will get it engraved. Another great picture opp. and something I can carry with me.
I got the same compacts to give to my MOH’s and my Jr. Bridesmaid.

Since he proposed, I’ve been keeping a journal full of snippets of conversations, my thoughts about him, the wedding, our life together, our future, tickets from events, greeting cards that I know will make him laugh / smile.
I also got an “IlluStory”, which is a “write / illustrate your own story and have it published in a hard back book” thing. But I’m saving that for our first anniversary.

@ellisrobertson: LOVE!! This reminded me of another thing I’m doing.
It’s kind of stupid but he’ll really appreciate it. I’m making him an advent (sp) calendar for the month of June. Each day he’ll open the little drawer for a small treat and on the wedding day he’ll get his real present.
I got the idea because he has been bugging me for years to get an advent calendar LOL.

@icetea: That is seriously awesome! I love giving gifts when I know what’s perfect. For my last (as in final) anniversary with my ex (two days before we broke up), I got him a skeleton. He had problems with his knees and back, and so I got him all new parts. ๐ The only problem with that gift is that I would LOVE to have one in our house, but I feel like it would seem as though I’m trying to hold onto memories of my ex or I’m too unoriginal to come up with a new great idea.
Once (I know I’m getting way off topic, I’m sorry!), for my best friend’s fifteenth birthday, I “got” her her crush. I happened to be friendly with him (a senior boy who lived near me, gave me a ride to school one time and was openly chit-chatty with me) and asked him to stop by her house before we left for her party. And he did. It was seriously awesome. In the pictures, her face is SO lit up. Weird gift? Yes. Perfect? Absolutely.

Fi and I are gettin gmarried on our 14 year anniversary…how cool that the gift can double as a wedding and anniversary gift. I am getting him a bottle of his favorite cologne so he can wear it the day of. Not sure what he might get me.
