What a great Saturday its been!! I heard a radio commercial last night about the Brides Against Breast Cancer Dress Sale in my area. This morning, with nothing to do (but clean) I thought about going up to look around at the dress, but was hesitant becuase I would have to go by myself. I made a quick call to my mom (who is out of state) and she encouraged me to go on up and see what they had.
LO AND BEHOLD! TONS of DRESSES!! I find the size 16-18 rack and peeking out the a bunch of dresses is **MY DRESS!!** I had narrowed my dress seach down to 3 dresses, with Casablanca 1812 in the lead! And, there, in the rack, was a size 16 ivory Casablanca 1812!! I grab the dress and call my mom in a "this is too good to be true moment."
It gets better though…i try it on…. and it zips! (i thought it would be tight) AND its the RIGHT LENGTH! My 5’3" self does not have to get the dress altered! SIGH!! I am beside myself! The dress I liked, the color, the size, and the Length! I am soo happy… and all the money I paid (which was a substantial amount less than I would have been paying at the bridal store) goes to Breast Cancer Research! Thank goodness I went to the sale!
And for all you other brides that see one of these coming to your area…check it out– its free! The dresses are cleaned before they are sold (mine looks brand spanking new). And there is a HUGE range of sizes. Lots more of the 2-10’s but plenty of racks of 12-28!!! I was really surprised! They even had flowergirl and bridesmaid dresses– which in all my happiness of finding my dress I completely ignored! =) WAHOO
