My best advice is to make sure you give your photographer a DETAILED list of excatly what you want – no broad strokes like saying “decor” or “details” literally say I want a pic of x,y.z.

I had an amazing photograher but just told him take pics of details – which he did, but he didn’t realize that by “details” I meant every little thing. It makes me sad that I wasn’t specific enough (even though he did ask for a specific list, I got too busy to send it 🙁 )

I wish that I didn’t let my mom stress me out all day.

I wish my dress had stayed bustled. And I wish I had gotten to eat more than my appetizer and one bite of cake (or, I wish that I had someone pack up a plate of food for us to take back to our room).

I wish that our venue hadn’t run so behind flipping the ceremony room for dinner (thus putting us 30 min behind). But… that wasn’t really in our control.

@2PeasinaPod:I am worried about my mom stressing me out, probably one of my biggest fear. My aunt offered to come over and help her get ready which I think will help to diffuse some of her negative energy and keep it away from me.

Great thread, I’d love to hear more. Not that I wish regrets upon anyone but it might save someone else from going through the same thing. I am so worried that I will forget something important.

I wish I let go of perfecting the “last minute decorating details” the day before our wedding and instead spent more of that day with my family and friends who traveled long distances to be there.

i wish i would have made my hair and makeup appointments earlier (hair was at 9 – makeup at 11:30 or a 3:00 wedding, we had to be at the church at 1:30) so i didnt get to spend any time with my BM’s before heading to the church i actually was leaving the mac counter at 1:15 and i didnt even get to eat lunch, i was stuffing pieces of bread in my mouth because i know i needed something in my stomach.

I wish my dress had stayed bustled and that I had micromanaged how the DJ played our processional song so that I could enter the ceremony during my favorite verse.

And (not that I have any control over the weather) I wish it had kept snowing instead of turning to rain on our wedding day. It was too wet out to get the great outdoor snow pics we wanted. But I guess that’s our bad for getting married in one of the rainiest cities ever.

But in the grand scheme of things our wedding was still leaps and bounds beyond what I ever could have imagined 🙂

I wish our photographer would have been more on the ball. Looking back I think I might have bitten the bullet and paid extra for a better photographer. There are photos where the wind was blowing my hair up in the back like a flipping rooster. I have no idea why she didn’t say, “You might want to pat your hair down for a minute hun.” We ended up with half a roll of proofs that are useless because of small details like this.

I also wish that someone had a sewing kit in our hotel room. Oh the troubles that would have saved us!!

Last, but not least I wish I would have had more time to take it all in. Years of planning went by in a flash and it all seems so crazy what I went through considering I now only remember bits and peices of it all. Wow was it a blur!

I wish i had my hair done by a stylist instead of doing it myself, i hated it and still do.

And i wish i would have made or ordered my bouquet and DH’s boutonniere myself instead of trusting someone to bring it along

And i should have relaxed the evening before the wedding day instead of driving around. But we needed to buy a few things and then i had to organize some stuff so that we ended up going to bed at around midnight, which was too late
