I put the return address stickers on the wrong side of every single invite envelope.  I didn’t realize it until last weekend when I went to go finish my invites.  So, now, I’ve got to go buy all new envelopes and I’ve wasted a bunch of my return address stickers.

@ethorn13:  LOL! I have a similiar worry… there is a couple nicknames of my FI’s friends and family that I’m scared that I’ll guess the real name wrong!!

Wow! Thanks for the head’s up! I had no idea how many different ways invites could go wrong.

Who knows what I messed up…the one I do know about was mailing my best friend’s invitation to the wrong address. She’s lived there for years, I have no idea how I messed that up.

So far I know that I misspelled FI’s uncles name (C instead of K) and mixed up a PO Box number. Luckily, all that happened with the Save-the-Dates, so I should be okay with the invites, hopefully. *fingers crossed*

I haven’t had a wedding related nightmare in a few weeks. I have a feeling they will start again tonight as I am printing and starting to assemble tomorrow. *trembles*

Well I will definitely be sure to double check our invites before addressing and make sure to do it in the middle of the day with lots of coffee and no distractions. lol

For our save the dates, I was so stressed with initial planning and student teaching that when I ordered my save the dates… I got one for everyone… not realizing there are a lot of families so we have about 70 something pictures of ourselves and tons of envelopes… which I stamped our address on my self (it took me about 5 hours, that was fun). And Future Mother-In-Law decided with her list to me that she would put hand deliver next to a lot of people’s names instead of their addresses. Last weekend I found out that some people never got there save the dates, and was told to address some to their parents addresses- they never were told that too so they just found out about our wedding. I have been on a mission to make sure I have everyone’s address and their date’s name. Here’s to hoping no more mishaps. lol

I addressed an invitation to Mr and Mrs (her last name), then when I got the reply I realized she still uses her maiden name. so basically I addressed it as if he had taken her name. oops!

i used “formal” names for the invitation – and addressed my mom’s cousin as “charles” – oops, his name is curtis (and I didn’t know until I got the rsvp back) we have always called him a nickname and i just always assumed it stood for charles — guess what they say about assuming is right 😉

Haha I thought I’d done well but now you’ve all got the fear in me! I had special cards for invites going to Canadian relatives, explaining why they don’t get return postage and how I’m happy to take RSVPs via email. I’m pretty sure those all went to the right people… I’m more concerned about the other insert, which was to get all married couples to bring a wedding picture to display. I didn’t really have those listed out and was just doing it by memory, so I sincerely hope I don’t hear through the grapevine that I messed up and now my thrice-divorced aunt is upset I asked her to bring a wedding picture. Pick your favorite, Auntie! 😉
