Did anyone have a “bride’s guy” instead of a bridesmaid? My Fiance and I have a group of somewhat overlapping friends. One of the girls in our group is MUCH closer to him, and one of the guys (who I went to college with), is MUCH closer to me. We want them both in our wedding.
Can we do this? For brides that have done this, how did the logistics work for bachlorette/bachelor party, showers, etc?

I am doing this–my best friend since high school is a guy–we are calling him a bridesman, and Fiance has a very close friend who is going to be his groomswoman. Bridesman is wearing the same tux as the rest of the guys, but his bout will be slightly different. He will also walk down the aisle with the girls at the beg of the ceremony. Groomswoman is wearing a brown dress (same color as the rest of the girls) and her bouquet is slightly different than the rest of the girls. She won’t be walking down the aisle, but rather will be up front with all of the other groomsmen. For the recessional, bridesman and groomswoman will pair up.

We mostly threw it out the window and just had a bridal party. The girls he wanted were my BMs, the guys I wanted were his GMs.

I’m actually having a “Man of Honor,” while my Fiance is having a “Groomsmaid.”

My brother was my man of honor. He came with me on my “bachelorette party” but really we just went out drinking so it wasn’t awkward. He also helped me set up on the day of the wedding and everything.

Yeah, I don’t think we’re getting strippers or anything (I HOPE!)… so it shouldn’t be a problem.
