Hi! So I’m curious to know what some people have spent on their bridal hair and makeup? I was referred to someone who charges $180 for bridal hair including trial.
This persons also works with a makeup artist that I contacted and she charges $200 for bridal makeup. And on top of that I must spend $60 in products when I get my trial done because she works at mac and it’s a requirement. That seems so high to me (not airbrush). It’s going to cost over $400 for both and that’s not even with gratuities. Is this normal?
Before this I contacted another place that was $375 for bridal hair and makeup combined. I thought that was pretty high too!
What did you pay????

I paid about $150 for hair and makeup combined, but had to pay another $150 for the trial.
My makeup trial looked amazing, then the MUA proceeded to use completely different products the day of. So make sure you watch to see what she’s using!! I had to get her to completely re-do my cheeks because she seemed to think that because I’m fair that means I should have cool blush and frosty white highlight. I looked like a ghost. 🙁

That seems really high to me. I paid $100 for hair and $100 for airbrush makeup including false lashes. Both the hair stylist and the makeup artist came to my venue. I went to them for the trials – I paid $75 for hair and makeup trial with the makeup artist, but later decided to have my normal hair stylist do my hair for the wedding. My stylist charged me $55 for my hair trial in her salon. They charged $85 per Bridesmaid or Best Man for airbrush makeup with lashes and $75 for hair. The MUA also brought another girl along to help do hair for some of my BMs and she charged $45-65 for hair depending on complexity.

I paid $490 (inc gratuities). But then I flew to Las Vegas for my wedding and had my hair and makeup done at the Bellagio, where I was staying, and which is not cheap. They did a great job, though.

I am paying $100 to get my hair done but I am doing my own makeup because a) I do it really well actually and I don’t like how other people do it and b) THE PRICE!

I think it depends quite a bit on where you live. I live right outside Boston and paid $250 for hair and makeup (including lashes) day of the wedding and $125 for the hair and makeup trial. I was super frugal for my wedding, but I didn’t want to fool around with this stuff. 🙂

My hair and makeup cost $150 total which includes a trial. I agree with PP that the price depends on where you live.

My hair and makeup is $180-include full hair, airbrush makeup and eyelashes. Does not include a trial, which was $65 for both hair and makeup!

Thanks for the responses! It seems a lot of you paid a lot less! But then again I guess it does depend where you live. I don’t live in any major big city, if that makes a difference.
I really want to love my hair and makeup on my wedding day, so I am willing to splurge a little, but Idk, $260 for makeup doesn’t seem worth it to me. The hair price isn’t so bad in my opinion since it does include the trial.
I just don’t know what to do!

Mine is over $400 for both h&m with trial. Definitely not what I wanted to spend. I found a few others for less but I didn’t really love their style, or at least it wasn’t for me. And doing it myself just isn’t an option because I’m just not good at it.
The good thing, if anything, is that her cost for BMs is much cheaper than others.

val887: I live in the chicagoland suburbs in a town of about 35,000, and the company I am using is the top in my area. Have you priced out other pptions?

I DIY’d my make-up because I like doing it, and think I do it well.
My hair was about $70 (including tip). It was with the same sylist that cuts/colors my hair. She has own salon and let my bridal party and Mother-In-Law in that morning, so it was just us. She provided coffee and fruit, too! I met with her a few weeks before to go over styles, and then that same week for a trim and color.
I could have gone other places, but liked my gal and it was nice knowing that it was just us there and they had the space/time.
I also had eyelash extensions, which were $30 for refilling – as I had been getting them for a couple months by then.

I paid $120 for the trial and another $120 the day of. Very affordable in my opinion.
