I am having 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man and one flower girl. This is my first wedding. I didn’t want a huge wedding party.
I understand. I am having my sister, my soon-to-be step daughter will be a jr. bridesmaid, and my daughter will be the flower girl.
I’ll be 36 at the wedding; Fiance will be 34. We’re having 7 bridesmaids, 1 best man, 6 groomsmen. All of my ladies are special to me; I didn’t know how to choose one. I’m so happy they’re standing up with me. I couldn’t imagine it without them.
I’ll be 31 and I’m having 4, one of which is Future Sister-In-Law.
I will be 40, my FH 41, when we marry, and I will have 5 BMs– ranging from 36 to 46! My best friend, 2 sisters, and 2 SILs. My 3 neices (age 12 to 14) will be JR BMs- or “Bridesmaidens” as I call them 🙂 It’s first marriages for both if us and although our wedding is not super traditional in other ways, I really wanted a large bridal party. I wanted my girls there! (Although ny oldset sister said this is her LAST one!)
i am 33 and will be having 1 Maid/Matron of Honor and 8 BMs, FH will have 1 Bridesmaid or Best Man and 8 Groomsmen so we have a really large wedding party. It was all or nothing and we decided to go for it since I couldn’t only choose a few of them and they are all exactly who I want to be standing up there with me.
I am 35 and I am having 5 Bridesmaids…I originally wanted only 2 but my Fiance wanted all of his guy friends to be part of the wedding so we moved it up to 5…
THat is an interesting question. If your wedding is small you may just want to consider having all of the kids to walk up as flower girls. A friend of mine did this instead.
I am having 4 just becuase I have 3 sisters so that makes is easier. And my maid of honor I have known since I was in 9th grade and I was her maid of honor so that just fit.
At first I felt like I should be able to have more but being 38 I do not have that many others I coudl ask. A friend of a friend just had 8 but then again she is much younger so that makes a difference.
I’m having three – my sister is one, along with my BFF (and considering I’ve donned not just one, but TWO bridesmaid dresses for her – she owes me!) I did think about skipping bridesmaids altogether (I’ll be 34 when we tie the knot) but thought it would be more fun to have my girls around for my big day – and wearing matching dresses!
I will have 3 brides maids and 1 Maid/Matron of Honor. That’s if I can get a hold of 2 of the BMs that I want. Also, my Fiance still does not know who to ask for 2 or his grooms men to even things up. The presure is definetly on for me.
33 here. 1 Maid/Matron of Honor and no bridesmaids. Large wedding of 120 guests but I don’t want to deal with the hassleand drama BMs may bring! I refuse to choose between my friends. Have over 20 very very good friends. Younger sis is Maid/Matron of Honor.
I will just be 30 and my SO will be 31, I had 2 girls that HAD to be my bridal party (they are like my sisters we are that close) but SO had 4 that HAD to be on his side or do something. For ease I chose another girl that I have been friends with for years to be Bridesmaid or Best Man too (which I am now super happy with as she has been really supportive and has just reminded me why I loved her in the first place enough to consider her) but we cut it off at 3 on both sides… We ended up asking SO’s other mate to be emcee for us for the night which he is totally excited by so that made SO happy that all of his best mates are involved and can “stand up” for him.
We have only a guest list of 50 so if we had any more BMs or GMs we would of had more people up at the front than we would of had watching hahaha
I’m so glad I found this board. I’ll be 31 when I get married and I’m having three Bridesmaid or Best Man although it started out with two. Everyone I know getting married are younger and having huge wedding parties. So glad to know I’m not weird for scaling it back a bit.
