I’m planning on hitting a sample sale this weekend and would love to find a few dress styles before I head in there. If that does not work out, I’d love to get a dress used or from a 3 dress bride 🙂 I know our wedding is still 18 months away (ish) but I figure I’ll probably need a decent amount of alterations.
Please show me your real life pictures! Or recommend good dresses for small girls!

This is my dress 🙂 It is a size 2. I ordered from Casablanca, and did the hollow to hem measurement. It needed no alterations (except to shorten the straps and do the bustle.)

Here is mine! I am usually a size 0 but they ordered a size 2. It’s a sottero and midgley dress and other then the hem it actually fits perfectly!

Mine is a size 2 and it fits almost ferfectly!

Here is my dress. It’s a size 2 and the only things I had done to it were the bustle and I had some tacks put in to hold the dress down in spots that I didn’t like how it crinkled. I’m still not 110% sure I love my dress, but I can’t return it now! haha. Possibly thinking about going this coming weekend and looking at another bridal shop. My bridal pictures are next Friday so I doubt I really have time to find anything, but to ease my mind, I think I still may go look.

I had to buy both my dresses in a size 6 because of my bust, and then alter them down to a size 2. Truthfully they even had to be altered down a size in the bust. I don’t know why designer sizing charts are so off, or why the stores like to order dresses so big.
Here they are after the alterations. They probably could’ve been taken in even more to fit me perfectly. Good news is because I had wiggle room in the lace dress, I was able to fit a gigantic petticoat underneath to make the skirt as full as I want.

Im a size 3 right now…not quite a two not quite a 4! and this is my dress. I LOVE it because it makes me look curvy…and I usually dont 😉

I got a size 4 in a oleg cassini. It’s got a very beautiful corseted top and a lovely flowing organza bottom. If you are looking for a flowy look id say go with organza, so feminine.

@His Lil SantosGirl: This was one of my four dresses as well 🙂 I ended up not wearing and sold it to another lovely bride.

@meliss: You bought four different dresses? Hehe, you should have worn them all!

@His Lil SantosGirl: Yeah I went slightly nuts right before the wedding . My first dress was too big and having alteration woes, I panicked and kept making bad purchase decisions with weeks to go before the wedding. That OC dress looks beuatiful on you though!

Mine is a size 4 because I needed it in my hips, but it had to be taken in at the bust and the waist. This pic was taken pre alterations. I’m going to my final fitting in 2 weeks.

@meliss: Hehe, i can just image you going threw many different bridal salons, and carrying multiple dresses in hand saying, “they are all so beautiful!” To be honest i’ve been feeling like going and maybe looking again… i mean wedding dresses are BEAUTIFUL! and you can only wear one!
but, that was very sweet of you to say 🙂
here’s a better photo.
by the way you have a rockin body!

Mine was a size 6 dress size, but I’m a size 2 street size. It’s a Jim Hjelm 8663. I loved it because, even though the dress was gorgeous, I felt like I was wearing a beautiful dress, rather than the dress wearing me. I’ve decided to sell it and have a post in the classifieds. Good luck and have fun dress shopping!
