My hair is very thin! It’s also pretty long. More than half way down my back.
I want to wear it down and curly. Kind of like this:

With my hair being so thin, it would probably be 3 strands of curls!
- Do you have any tips on making your hair thicker? Or are clip in extensions the best way to go?
- If you have any before/after photos with your extensions, that would be a major help!!
- Also, if you did get clip ins…Where did you get them and how much were they?

@SouthernBee33: cnt comment on the extensions bcus ive never had them but the reference pic you posted is beautiful and I have friends who get weave/extensions in order to make hair appear thicker and it looks nice to me if done well. the cost varies, ive seen from under $100 to crazy prices at $1000 (personally i think those pppl are crazy) the average i would say is between $100-$250 in my area DC/MD/VA

@mckey430: I wouldn’t want to pay more than $100-$150 since I’ll probably only wear on the wedding day and maybe a special occasion.
I’m a pretty ummm basic girl haha! I wear my hear up mostly because of my job in healthcare.
Thanks about the picture! I HOPE and PRAY my hair looks half as good as that!

@SouthernBee33: that doesnt make you basic, it makes you normal lol. do u have a picture of your actual hair (the back) for reference that you are willing to post?
if not I still think you will be fine jst curling your own hair based upon the length you said it was in order to achieve this look.

I didn’t vote because I’m not getting extensions (I have a shit ton of hair) but I don’t think that your hair has to be all natural on your wedding day! I think it might be strange for friends/guests/relatives to see you with knee-length hair if you had a pixie the day before, but even if that’s your personality and style then go for it. It looks like you just want to thicken your hair up and honestly I don’t even think anyone will know!

@SouthernBee33: I used clip in extensions that I got on ebay for really cheap from China. No, they probably weren’t “Remy” that they were advertised as, but they were definitely human hair that was in really pretty good shape and styled really nicely. It made a huge difference in the volume of my hair for the day, and I’m glad that I went with it. I have worn them since then as well and been pretty happy with them overall. (I changed my haircolor recently though, so I think it would be a lot harder to match them perfectly now.)

@SouthernBee33: @SouthernBee33: I have never worn extensions before but I am for my wedding For two reasons 1) to add volume & 2) because I have curly hair & my venue has no climate control so if its humid that day my own hair will be a mess. The extensions will help conceal & tame my own strands. I asked my hairdresser to order clip-in, human hair extensions. She called me with a price of $100. I didn’t shop around, I just trusted her. I could see using them in the future for special occasions (special e bough that I would get my hair done). I do not see myself attempting to put them in myself, I have only basic skills at hairstyling!

I love extensions, though I didn’t wear them on our wedding day. I would go for it if I were you!

Here are some photos…
Just got out of the shower so my hair is all natural. It’s got a strange wave/friz too it when it completly dries. It holds curl but like I said it’s just really thin when you straighten it or curl it.
Definetly more volume natural but I never wear it natural. Here are my embarrasing photos 😀
@mckey430:

Above is all my hair pulled to one side.
Below is when my hair is straight and pulled into a pony tail.
(I’m actually painting my cousins nails “something blue” from her wedding!)

@SouthernBee33: i like it (your hair), i think clips ins at the bottom would help it avoid looking thin but of course this thinness isnt noticeable to the naked eye from photos. i know its 4 months off at least but im looking forward to your recap now lol. go for it !

@mckey430: Thanks! It starts to taper more at the bottom..making it look thinner. I’m so excited/nervous I’m 4 months til! I can’t wait, though!

I’m not doing extensions but I’m not against them…I just don’t need them. Looking at your hair, I don’t think it’s too thin but if you think you’ll benefit from extensions, go for it! Nothing wrong with that.

@boogiewoogies: I’ve never worn extensions before. I’d be scared a weft (is that what it’s called?? lol) would fall out when I’m walking down the isle. Eek!

I’ll be wearing clip in extensions on my wedding day. My hair is almost shoulder length, with an ok amount of volume, but I want to wear my hair down (to hide my ears) so i need a bit more length than I currently have to do something nice with it, most likely styles like OPs inspiration photo.
