I wore extensions on my wedding day and I absolutely loved them! My hair is very similar to yours in thickness though a bit longer, and my stylist used them to add volume more than length. I wore my hair down and they held their curl very well, even in the hot summer weather. My sister purchased the extensions about 5 years ago for a special event and I’ve borrowed them two other times when I was a bridesmaid. So they can get their use over time!
The color was a shade or two darker than I wear my hair now, so I took them to my stylist and she dyed my hair to match about two weeks before the wedding.
As for the wefts falling out, if the hairstylist knows how to use them, you will be fine. With all the hairspray and everything in there, I had a bit of trouble getting them out the next morning!
you should try to
find the cause of your loss . Mine used to be way thinner beacuse my diet and low iron
I wore extenstions for my wedding – and for me, I regretted it. I think if they had been the same length as my hair, it would not have bothered me but they were 3-4 inches longer than my normal hair. I prob should have worn them a bit before the big day to get used to the extra length, because it DROVE ME CRAZY all night! Also, the day of my wedding it rained and the extensions did not hold curl at all from all the moisture in the air (and I did get high quality, expensive ones). So I would say, they can look beautiful – just make sure that you give yourself time to get used to them, and keep them in after your trial to see how long the curls last (I took mine out as I didnt want my fiance to see my hairstyle and we live together).
I’m not wearing extensionsn (there’s no need with an up do) but I think you should go for it. You’ll feel a lot more comfortable with fuller hair. I don’t really see a downside other than the added expense
Ok, so I’ve read all the responses and now I have a question – can you see the clips or say if someone put their hands in my hair (my Fiance for example if he was to kiss me) would it pull them out? I’ve never had them before and my hair is just past my shoulder and I a medium thickness I guess you could say, its not super thin but its not thick either, and my Maid/Matron of Honor had suggested for length purposes I do extensions as I do would like wavy curls for my wedding day and my hair does not stay curled well nevermind in the humidity of Cuba! Can anyone tell me what I should do? I don’t do much with my hair and I basically want what the OP has as an idea except with a clip on the side like this. I am also thinking of this colour as my hair is only a couple shades darker and I will be getting married on the beach. My flower would be a Gerber daisy as this is what is in our bouquets and what will be in my flower girls hair.
Any thoughts as to what I could do?
if you are worried you could do tape extensions, they are way thinner and very flat.
I found a place in the UK (even though I live in Canada) that ships worldwide for free and has wavy hair extensions would this be an advantage given how I want my hair or a disadvantage because I have to try and then curl my own hair exactly the same to match?
This is what they look like
I’m not engaged yet so I can’t answer the poll but I can speak to extensions. I wear clip in extensions every single day becayse my hair is super thin due to vitamin/mineral digestion issues that I have. I actually bought a single waft which was about 3 foot long. Then I cut it and sewed the pieces to the clips myself. Doing it this way was better for me because it only cost about $120 and I could customize the pieces I use. I have some I use when I wear my hair down and some when I wear it up. They all blend together, though, so no one ever knows. My suggestion would be get the extensions and take them with you to the salon. Have your hairdresser trim your hair with them in so that it all blends. It’ll look much more natural that way.
You can’t see the clips but you can feel them. If you ran your fingers through my hair, you couldn’t tell a difference but if you ran your fingers along my scalp, you’d definitely feel them.
ive never had trouble with clips especially if its for a one day event. It’ll look great.
You can watch youtube videos too so that after the wedding if you just want a fuller look you can put in yourself. I can put my whole set of clips in without a mirror in like five minutes.
