I recently started the dress hunt and I really liked the David Tutera Beryl gown, but I have only tried it on in ivory. But I adore the sea mist colour (pale blue under ivory).
Has anyone bought this dress in the sea mist colour? What colour did your bridesmaids wear?
Or any other brides who bought a coloured gown? What about the bridesmaids?
My original idea was to have my girls in a burgundy-type colour but not sure how this would go if I have the sea mist blue for my gown.
An suggestions/pictures wuld be great 🙂

I’m also looking for a coloured/accented dress. I was so excited to find the David Tutera line…
I’m sorry to be a debbie downer, but it looks like Beryl probably can’t be ordered in seamist anymore 🙁 https://moncheribridals.com/browse/wedding-dresses/david-tutera-for-mon-cheri/114293-beryl/
Have you looked at Thea or Gia in the same line? They have a similar silhouette

Yep, I got a blue dress. Couldn’t be happier, as I didn’t want or like white. I look horrible in white, actually.
My bridesmaids(all two of em) wil be wearing navy blue. What style, I dunno yet.

Sorry, no pictures yet. Dress will be blue with ivory lace and black flowers incorporated somehow. Bridesmaids dresses will be black. Our colors are powder blue, mint and silver. I didn’t want everyone in blue and no one was wild about picking the other two so black was an easy winner. I think sea mist and burgundy would look really nice together. 😄

Not gonna lie the struggle was real with trying to find out what looked good. Since my dress is so pale, it doesnt jump out as blue, so thats why I paired it with navy dresses.
Your dress looks like a dusty blue on my computer. I am unsure if that is true or not.
Are you having a vintage wedding?Spring? Winter?

I didn’t have BMs but if I had they would have worn soft pinks/purples (colours of my bouquet).

well I’m in Australia and as far as I could tell, the store I went to still offered it in sea mist. I could be wrong though. I haven’t heard of Thea yet, but Gia is definitely on my list to try on 🙂
I love your colours! Unfortunately my friend is getting married in September 2017 and her girls are in the sky blue colour so I kind of want to steer away from that.
Navy is also the colour people “expect” me to have (almost every formal/cocktail dress I own is navy lol) and I want to kind of steer away from that for my wedding.
my wedding is in May 2018 (autumn in Australia) on a mountain. Not too sure of a “theme” just yet.
your dress is gorgeous!

Mine is gold embroidery and champagne colored crystals over ivory. So not too much color, but it definitely has more color than a typical wedding gown IMO! (The pic is from a magazine, not me)

My dress was blush (Watters Edlin gown) and my bridesmaids wore differing shades of gray (I let them choose their own dresses).
I think anything could work with blue! Gray, purples (burgundy like you wanted), pinks, even ivory or white to really shake things up! I would just coordinate flowers to make it all cohesive.

I was leaning towards this, but felt it didn’t fit my theme, since blue and gold remind me of vintage.

I have a purple-ish dress (white painted purple and silver), and my bridesmaid is in lilac. Not going to lie- it does limit colour choices for bridesmaids (we went out thinking steel blue, white, silver… but the dress we loved only came in lilac) but it’s worth it!
I think metallics are safe for coloured dresses, and white looks awesome and unexpected (esp if your guests don’t know you’re in a coloured dress!).
Let us know how you go!
