we did first look it was magical and walking down the aisle was magicial too because i didnt see him for 3 hours after our first look since he headed up having to go to emergency room and grooms men and fil kept telling me to go back to the hotel and try to relax and they would get groom ready and out of hospital asap.

@WhatMaeBee:  Same here!  Our ceremony is at 7:30pm and I was adamant about no first look as well until I realized we wouldn’t be able to get ANY good pics of us as a couple at 8:15pm outside.

It was definitely still magical!!! After doing a first look (in which he cried), Mr. W still teared up when I walked down the aisle. I am SO glad we did a first look, because it was really nice to relax and have some fun time alone with Mr. W before the ceremony. It calmed my nerves, and it was nice to get most of the photos out of the way before the ceremony.

@hlayers:  Yes! Ours is at 6:30, and sunset is around 7, so we’ll have to take some before hand, but the more I think about it the more I like the idea 🙂

For us, doing a first look didn’t take away from the aisle walk magic, at all. As a matter of fact, Darling Husband is the one who lost his composure when he saw me, rather then the other way around–and to make matters even worse, he couldn’t help but kiss me as soon as I got up to the front with him. It was too cute (but, I gave him a bit of heck for it, lol).

We did first look, it was definately worth it and so was seeing him as walked down the aisle. Definately did not take anything away!

We did a first-look and we loved it! The walk up the aisle toward him was still full of emotion and I was weepy and panicky and ridiculously happy. I shudder to think what a mess I would have been had we not done a first look.

@Birdee106:  Perfect.  You pretty much sealed the deal for me to do the first look that we’ve been considering!

We are planning on doing a first look too… for the reason of me not being a total basket case walking down the aisle… and just a little alone time right before all the hoopla begins.  I know I’ll feel better seeing him first.. but I also had the concern that it might take away some of the awesomeness of walking down the aisle.. for him.  I’m glad to hear that’s not the case though!

We haven’t done the wedding yet, but we’re planning on doing a first look for logistical reasons – who wants to take off after their ceremony for at least an hour to take photos and miss seeing everyone who travelled to see the wedding! I highly doubt it’ll take away from the specialness of the moment – I’m about to marry him, how much more special could it be?!

Besides, it may not be the first time he’s seen me today, but it’ll be the first time that our family and friends are seeing me too!
