I would recommend going to sephora and trying foundations out.  What works for one girl might not work for the next.  I went there to try Makeup Forever after hearing such great things about it.  I put a little bit on my neck to test colors- and I was glad I just put it on my neck.  It immediately turned my skin bright red and felt like hot chilli peppers!  Wouldn’t be such a great wedding day look, but for others it works great.

HappySideUp:  just wanted to say that I tried the MUFE HD foundation and hated it. It got such great reviews i knew I was going to love it, but nope! It had little coverage, got oily, and practically melted off my nose area. So basically I’m just saying you should get a sample and try it out. Along with some of the others mentioned.

I did my own makeup as a bridesmaid for a friend’s wedding and I used the Revlon Colorstay and Urban Decay setting spray. It was super hot and humid and my makeup stayed put all day/night.

Im also doing my own. I bought Estée double wear and it was sooo thick, hard to wash off, opaque, flat bluh. Waste of my $$. Now I’m on to Laura Mercier which is much lighter and more natural- I want look as glowy and natural as possible. How’s your skin? Are you looking for thick thick coverage? Or just evening out?

everytime I work a film/shoot I ask the MUA and lots of them love Laura Mercier.

I used my usual Bare Minerals, but I wore their “brightening” primer underneath. Must’ve worked out because I love the way I look in my photos, but we had good photographers, I’ve been told I have nice skin, and I’m not overly critical. I wanted to make sure I didn’t do anything real heavy because DH hates that.

MrsBuesleBee:  Which one of the Laura Mercier foundations?

I will be doing my own to, initially I thought on using Make up for Ever HD but I am always on the hunt for the best one…

sophielle:  I’m using the smooth finish one. It’s medium coverage- they have a thicker one but it felt to heavy for me. The medium one evens skin tone, but is still sheer enough to look natural.

If I get stress acne close to the wedding I migt have to up my game.

I have oily/combination skin and Makeup Forever HD does not help with oil control at all so I stopped using it. So you definitely won’t want to use that one in the heat.

I recommend just going into Sephora and getting samples of various foundations and testing them out at home. Make sure to pictures of yourself with/without flash while wearing them.

With whatever foundation you end up using, I would add a setting spray to lock everything into place. Try looking up ‘Skindinavia Bridal Setting Spray.’

My Maid/Matron of Honor did my makeup. She used my Revlon ColorStay foundation. It lasted a very long time, looked great, and was affordable!
