I’m doing my own makeup for my wedding and these are the products I’m using:

-smashbox photofinish primer (monistat chafing gel, per mrs.rainbow)

-urban decay eyeshadow primer potion (also rec by Mrs.rainbow, this stuff is AWESOME)

-tart matte bronzer, park avenue princess

-illimasqua blush (katie, I also use this on my eyes for a subtle pink hue over the base) and matte eyeshadow (forgiveness, for the crease)

-makeup forever eyeshadow (dark fawn (for the lid), irridecent yellow beige (all over and highligher color)) and microfinish powder to set the makeup

-clinique super balanced foundation (fair)

-Hourglass hidden corrective concealer

-Exactlash waterproof mascara

All the makeup looks really natural, I’m also trying out a finishing spray, urban decay all nighter setting spray

If it works for Kate Middleton… Smile

(I’m not brave enough though, but good luck! I love MAC make-up for everything though.)

@mcnetn3: Oooh, I love that setting spray! Have you bought it yet? They sell a couple different kinds on their website that isn’t available through Sephora.

I’m doing a face primer like mcnetn3, but it’s a different brand that I can’t remember the name of right now :).

On top of that, I’m using Urban Decay’s tinted moisturizer and some type of powder (haven’t nailed that down).

For eyes, I’m using TooFaced’s Shadow Insurance and Tarina Tarantino’s Sparklicity Bronze palette. I’m also using Tarina’s mascara. It gives me a really dramatic look and stays in place when I cry :).

I’m using Chanel blush, but I’m not sure what the color is named, and Nars lipstick.

By the way, the illamasqua stuff is crazy pigmented, so if you use it, just tap the brush in the color and then tap it off and build the color up, otherwise if you just swipe your brush in the color and on your face, it’s really intense.  Those products will last you FOREVER.

I highly recommend going to Sephora and having someone try products out on your skin and in the colors you are looking for, they did a great job for me. My fiance who hates makeup, even said I still look like ‘me’  and ‘natural’ with the products I’m using now.

Anybody have lipstick recommendations?  I want a neurtral/pinkish color, and one that will last all day, but I haven’t found one yet.  I’m thinking of just trying out a bunch of the outlast type stuff from covergirl and seeing what works. These are my makeup inspiration pictures, except for the heavy eyeliner on top.  I’m pretty much a balance between the two with the products I’m using.

@mcnetn3: The MUA at Sephora recommended Nars to me. She put some on me, and it lasted about all day. I might freshen it up once on the wedding day, but that’s not too shabby! It was also more of a matte finish, which I like because it doesn’t get onto my teeth as easily (I have a random fear of getting lipstick on my teeth).

I did my own makeup =)

I found and pretty much followed Miss Rainbows Ace Your Face Pt.1

Only differences are I use Smashbox over MAC (don’t like MAC).. I don’t mix my moisturizer b/c it makes my face oily.. and I use Smashbox Photofinish Concealer b/c well I need it. lol

Day to Day and for the Big Day:

I myself wear Smashbox Photofinish Foundation.. great coverage but isn’t heavy (I was a mineral makeup girl so I didn’t want heavy or cakey)

Monistat Chaffing gel for primer (it’s the same as Smashbox primer)

Smashbox Photofinish concealer b/c it’s the best coverage I’ve found for my skin issues

Bare Minerals Foundation Powder for my loose Powder (i like the coverage better than a regular pressed powder)

Also the Smashbox Starter comes with their powder.

Bare Minerals Warmth for my cheeks and bridge of nose

any ol blush for the apples of my cheeks.

MUFE HD Finishing Powder to set my make up (although I have heard the elf makes something similar for MUCH cheaper)

and Smashbox limitless long wear lipgloss

My eyeshadow was an Ulta dou blue & light blue/silver along with another neutral color.

I bought my brushes from Target Studio Tools:

Foundation and Blush

CVS got another brush

Fluffy Powder Brush & slanted eye liner brushe that I actually use for my eyebrows

Have Fun

@runsyellowlites: That is such a great picture! Please don’t think I’m creepy for saving this for my own makeup inspiration. I’m planning to do my own makeup as well and your picture shows me that it’s possible to look natural and gorgeous 🙂

@runsyellowlites: Oh geez, I never would have thought you did your own! I’ve been doubting myself a tiny bit, but you totally make me feel better!

@mcnetn3: try MAC’s “dervish” lip pencil paried with MAC’s “fabby” lip stick, gorgeous combination!

I’ve been watching emilynoel83 on youtube, and she has tons of great ideas, including suggestions for cheaper products that she thinks are better than the expensive version! I’ve just bought a whole bunch of the e.l.f. products, cuz, hello, they’e like a dollar…so I’m probably going to use those when I do my own makeup.

@red_rose:

I’ve heard great things about elf products too!
