everwoods :  You couldn’t pay me to wear my glasses on my wedding day lol(; If you’re open to contacts you could probably get a trial pair from a local eye doctor to wear for your wedding!

everwoods :  Yep, I did! My Darling Husband did as well since he wears glasses daily too. No regrets wearing them over contacts.

I’ve worn glasses all day, everyday, since I was 11. You couldn’t pay me to wear contacts on my wedding day! My glasses are part of my identity almost! I wear plastic frames that are a bit of a statement piece and quite frankly I barely recognize myself without them. I love wearing glasses! I’ve gone from funkier styles when I was younger to my now “I should be a little sophisticated since I’m over 30”, but still rock the thicker plastic frames just in a tortoise shell color versus harsher black or bright colors. I will do my wedding eye makeup slightly darker as far as eye liner and extra mascara goes, but I generally do that any time I’m wearing makeup. I’m sure your spectacles will look spectacular! 🤓

I’ll be wearing my regular glasses. Decided to do a long veil with no blusher to keep it towards the back of my head so it doesn’t get caught.

I’m too scared to wear contacts but also don’t want to wear my glasses on the day so I’m going to be blind for my entire wedding 😂

glitterweddingbee :  contacts just take practice. My doctor had me sit in her office and practice putting them in, taking them out, and putting them back in. After a few weeks it was easy but I know some people are a little squeamish about touching their eyeball lol. I think if you wear glasses on a regular basis then there’s no reason you shouldn’t wear them for your wedding, you should look like you.

I get married next spring and since I’ve only worn glasses for a year, and am just correcting a slight astigmatism in one eye, I will be doing our quick ceremony (and maybe cocktail hour?) without glasses, then would like to get a fun pair for the reception.

I actually love wearing glasses and have three sets already 😜🤓 but I feel like they kinda detract from my eyes when my makeup is all done up, hence wanting to go without for the ceremony.

everwoods :  Just trying to help come up with different solutions in case you were interested in wearing contacts! I personally have trouble keeping my glasses + contacts current as far as prescriptions go due to crappy eye insurance and wasn’t sure if you were in the same boat(:

I’ve only recently become a full time glasses wearer (last year or so) and have never tried contacts. For me, it felt odd wearing my glasses when I tried on dresses so I might try contacts ahead of the big day. Or go without and just squint! Would love to see some other brides with glasses though – maybe we are just not used to seeing it and that’s why I felt odd in mine

I have never worn contacts because I know I’d never be able to tolerate them, and glasses are part of what makes me “me”. I tried getting a different frame so my eyes wouldn’t be as covered up from the side, but I hated how they looked on me and they have become my backup pair instead. You can still see my eyes and expression in the pics. Nothing wrong with glasses or contacts, as long as you feel comfortable and beautiful on your wedding day.

I’m seriously considering wearing my glasses on my wedding day, and this thread is really helpful! I also do wear contacts, but it’s always so hit or miss when I do. Sometimes they irritate my eyes to no end and my eyes end up watery and red all day, and I’m just not sure I want to risk it. I feel like it’s bound to happen on the ONE DAY I would need them to behave, because of course!

I LOVE my glasses and even when I tried on dresses, I had them on and loved the look. This is me in the dress I bought, with glasses on. smile

ETA: I am SO TEMPTED to buy a pair of new glasses specifically for the wedding lol.

I’m following this thread as I ALWAYS wear my glasses! I bought contacts to wear on my wedding day (I do wear them sometimes. More often on the summer with my sunglasses) but I feel like I look ugly without my glasses. So I’m going to see how the makeup trial goes and then decide for sure which way I’ll go! I really hope more bees post photos in their glasses!

I wore glasses. And luckily it was time for me to get new frames and lenses so I got some nice new frames in a dark burgundy (our colors were red, black, and yellow – so the burgundy tied in really well). I tried contacts in college, but my eyes got irritated way too often with them in. And now I don’t really recognize myself without glasses. They’re just such a big part of my style.
