I have been humming and haaing on the veil and have decided to go without, am wearing this Vera Wang comb in my hair and will have it all up and think I will be more comfortable without a veil!

I’m getting married in a church and I’m not wearing a veil!  I don’t like the symbolism of the veil, and Fiance thinks (no offense to anyone) that they look pretty silly.

I am not wearing a veil either.  Our ceremony is taking place in a historical church but is not a religious ceremony.  Sounds kind of funny but that is how we roll LOL.

There are so many beautiful options for headpieces these days that I don’t think a veil seems necessary…even for a formal church ceremony.  My advice is go with what makes you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself. Who knows, maybe you’ll try on a veil and fall in love!  Best of luck to you!

Here is a picture of my fascinator.

I haven’t found anything for my hair yet, but I know I don’t want to wear a veil. I’m thinking about stringing some pearls in my hair and I have a pair of vintage earrings that I want to put in my hair also.

No veil for me, but I will be using Fuschia orchids in my hair.

@Mrs. DG: I think this is the first time I’ve seen your wedding pic! You were (are!) gorgeous!

@ms.pascua: I saw you were back and I was waiting for a wedding recap! Let me know if I missed it — I’d love to see the rest of your pics since this one is so beautiful!

I was the exact opposite — I went into the wedding process fairly certain that I was not interested in a veil, just an added expense and more frilly than I consider myself. But then I put one on, just to humor the saleslady and… I felt like a bride! I had more of a moment with the veil (that I didn’t buy) than with the dress (that I bought). I kick myself sometimes! So, I think it is completely understandable that you could try one on and just confirm that you don’t want one! You gave them a chance and found they are definitely not for you! No big deal. Sometimes you just have to put something on to know how you’ll really feel about it. I love the suggestions for flowers or barrettes. You will be a glowing bride, as long as you are comfortable in what you pick!

No veil for me either!  My dress has a large flower on it… When I ordered my dress, I ordered an extra flower for my hair.  I’m just not a veil girl!

I did wear a veil for the actual ceremony and family pictures (it was my moms veil and it was really important to her that I wear it …) but the vast majority of the time I was veil-less!

I must have tried on two dozen veils at different stores at different times and I always felt stupid in a veil.  I am just doing a huge flower with netting and crystals.  Love it!  I’m Catholic and I would say it’s about half and half brides who wear traditional veils and those that don’t

I guess church weddings can be formal, but mine sure won’t be! No veil here, and getting married in a gorgeous Catholic church! I think veils are a very personal decision, and the best person to decide is you! If my priest told me to wear one, I’d tell him I don’t feel comfortable in them and I want to feel comfortable on my wedding day!
