I have always been (fairly) certain that I don’t want a bouquet. It just feels weird clutching flowers in front of me. So I have opted for a clutch bag which makes it all feel very elegant and more “normal”. It’s a late afternoon wedding in a hotel,
However, everyone that I mention it to looks at me like I’m slightly crazy. “A bag?!” You;re not walking in with a bag?!, what will you do with it at the end of the aisle .. etc etc.
I do wonder whether I’ll look bqack at the photos though and think there is something missing. What do think ladies? Any pics of brides without flowers would be appreciated.

Not married yet, but I feel the same as you 🙂 I probably wont carry my clutch with me down the aisle, though

I personally want to carry a bouquet & think carrying a clutch is a little different, but it’s not my wedding. Do what feels right to you. Do whatever makes you feel beautiful.

At last – some replies! Thanks for your comments, I’m still swaying towards the clutch, even walking down the aisle with it. In fact, its not really an aisle and I think I’ll reach the end within seconds. I guess there are no pictures with flowerless brides?

I think it’s totally fine! I’m not having a bouquet either. I don’t understand why brides spend hundreds of dollars on something that dies. If a clutch is more you, go with it! You can carry it on your anniversary every year too!

@AlwaysSunny: +1 Do whatever YOU want to do. Plus I think that it would be great to be able to carry the clutch every year on your anniversary.

Both of my parents are walking me down the aisle; since I’ll be holding onto them, it doesn’t make sense for me to also carry a bouquet. Do what makes you feel comfortable!! 🙂

I hate flowers, but I still carried a bouquet of seashells:

Found a few. I like the idea of the 3rd one adding a flower to it.

I donno. I think you could have a cute clutch for photos, but I wouldn’t walk down the aisle with it. It makes me think of the female deacons at my church that bring their purses with them as they go around the church with the collection plate and I always wonder why they’re bringing their purse wiht them… just leave it in the pew, lol. I don’t really like hte look of carrying a purse around with you, to me it looks more odd htan flowers.

I think if you’re going for a more modern style type of wedding you can pull that off with the look.

@hiheel: thanks for the pics, see it isn’t weird! Love the seashell bouquet for a beach wedding too. Still leaning towards the clutch, I guess I’m just not a traditional bride. Not having any bridesmaids, no cake cutting, choosing to walk down the aisle alone – the list is endless!
