Hi Bees! I’m getting married in September and we’re doing a vintage inspired wedding.
Here is my bridesmaids dress
Its adorable and vintage, and wasn’t expensive! But now I’m in a bind because I don’t know what to have them wear for shoes! I was originally going to do a pop of color with a yellow shoe, but it looks too daytime and the wedding is at dusk. And yes I know the “rules” say I should have a long dress for a nighttime wedding….
Now the wedding colors are purple and yellow–they will be carrying a bright yellow wildflower bouquet…so silver shoes are out!
Should I have them buy dyeable shoes and dye them all the same color as the dress?
Should I let them all choose purple shoes?
Should I do gold? (not so sure gold/yellow will good together?)
Also–the dress needs a petticoat for a lil fluff and shape…any recommendations?? Good brands or things to look for?
Thanks so much in advance ladies!!

Why not nude shoes? That would lengthen the leg and go with just about anything…. You could find a really cool looking “vintage-esque” pump, maybe like a d’orsay heel, that would go really well with the dress.
My girls are going to be wearing these shoes (Calie) by Jessica Simpson:
Black shoes might also work. I do think silver would still look good, maybe a muted silver.
LOVE the dress btw, great great style and color!
Oh and as for a petticoat or fluff, Davids Bridals sells a petticoat for their tea-length dresses that might work. Its like $50. It fluffs without too much weight, which is nice.

Those dresses are gorgeous! I would go with a nude pump as well.

Agreed on the nude shoe. Would keep the vintage look and your girls could wear them again again.
Also love the dress! Where did you find it? I’m still shopping for bridesmaids dresses myself.

@GeorgiaBride5: Thanks! I found it (well my MOH did) on a UK website (http://topvintage.nl/en/), but I ended up ordering it from the actual designer site (Lindy Bop) and it was only $45 including shipping from the UK and shipping to all the girls here in the USA. I ordered them all and then sent them out to my girls who are spread out across the country.

Thank you all for your suggestion! I hadn’t even thought nude…defintiley something to consider! We just decided that the groomsmen are going to be in grey suits and so I was leaning towards silver shoes to tie it all together–but nude is very tempting!
Gave me a lot to think about thank you! 🙂

The dress is so adorable. Curious how you are going to do hair?
I think that purple shoes would be too much. Also their are so many shades of purple. I agree that a nude shoe would look nice.

LOVE the idea of the bright yellow heels to match the flowers, but I love the nude as well!
