- Wedding: August 2013
This post is more of a relief than a disaster preparedness drill! lol… So, I asked my friend (fo about 10 years) to be in my wedding. We now live about an hour apart (Los Angeles > nearby suburbs)…We used to be close like sisters (met in early 20’s, waitressing together), but grew apart, but still able to pick up where we left off… Until now! I have only asked for a few things, get your dress/sash and shoes! Well, she managed to make those few tasks complicated. 1) Everytime a payment is due, she doesn’t have her debit/credit card (what 30 yr old leaves home without money/cards/etc??) needless to say, I paid for all of it. 2) She never bothered calling the bridal salon back to pick up her sash, instead let’s me panic about 2 days ago (when they take a month to arrive — wedding is August 3)– NOTE: the sash was ready 6/14 and the bridal salon called her repeatedly to pick it up. I call her and she says she will call over phone to pay… but guess what?!?! SHE LEFT HER CARD AT HOME!!!! 3) She did her best to ruin Part One of my Vegas Bachelorette weekend! Kept distancing herself from the group – 13 girls all got along, she was THAT ONE! Took 2 random guys to my hotel room to smoke weed (that she smuggled on the plane)! I WAS LIVID! My purse, Ipad, money and other belongings were in the room (not to mention how DANGEROUS THAT IS!!); dressed like a Forever 21-clad teenager (booty shorts and midriffs)… it is Vegas, but… class anyone?!?!?!
So, after “Sash-gate”…I told her about the cop out with the debit card and if she needed my help to just ask (and not brag about how much money you make)! Then 2 hours later, I dismissed her via text and just let her know how selfish, irresponsible and unreliable she has been! I still invited her as a guest, but no longer in the wedding party!
Bees, I am far from a Bridezilla and have asked for very little other than their blessings and happiness!
