Ok, I’m having trouble deciding what color roses to have my bridesmaids carry. My colors are different shades of purples and black. My bouquet will be white roses tied together w/black sheer ribbon. I was going to go w/purple roses but it didn’t look very good. Any help would be awesome! Thanks! : )

Did you try lavender and white roses together?

I agree — lavender will look great. a soft color like lavender wont be too harsh

I think a lipstick red rose with the stems tied with a black ribbon would be pretty!

Don’t be afraid to add a new colour for the flowers, if the purple flowers aren’t looking as you’d hoped. Or try a different kind of purple flowers.

I will be carrying white roses as well but I didn’t want the bridesmaids’ bouquets to match mine. So I chose a different white flower, peruvian lillies. Maybe you can chose a different type of flower that is white.

What about different purple flowers? Or multiple shades of purple roses (so it softens it up a bit)?
Here’s some inspiration I thought was beautiful:

Thanks everyone! @FutureKMM Those pictures are beautiful! We tried different shades of purples w/the dresses and none looked quite right to me. The dresses are a dusty plumish color and its just so hard to match! I shoulda thought about that b4 deciding on that color! haha But I loooove my girls dresses! @jayelcee85 I love the red roses idea. I didnt even think to try it as I wasnt sure red and purple really went. I’m re-thinking my opinion!

@kiki29: Honestly, I wouldn’t try to match the purple on the dress. That’s only going to lead to the flowers kind of blending into the background. If you make the flowers a different shade of purple than the dress (or multiple shades of purple or a different color all together), then the flowers will really pop against the dusty plum colored background of the dresses.

@FutureKMM – I guess I dont literally mean match but I brought in one of the dresses and we tried several purple options that just didnt call out to me. They were all gorgeous, as are the pictures above, but something just didnt look right to me : (
I really dont want to do white as I dont want them to match my bouquet but am thinking of 3 long stem RED roses tied w/black sheer ribbon. The ribbon would match the ribbon in my bouquet. Any opinions on the red w/purple? Has anyone done that b4? Thanks!

I like the red/purple idea. Jewel tones look great together!
