I know a lot of people on the bee think that bridesmaid “proposals” are stupid and unneccessary–and I kind of agree, but I really love the idea, so I’m doing it anyway. I think it’s a nice way to put some effort into asking my girls to be a part of my day. I found some book boxes at Michael’s like this:
I painted them purple, and used white sparkly paper for the pages and the inside bottom of the book. I’m going to put a few things inside of them (color swatches, chocolate, a handmade card, and maybe lip gloss and nail polish or something similar). I’m having a really hard time figuring out what to put on the box itself. I’m thinking about writing “Best day ever!” on the spine, or maybe just our date. Fiance suggested I just put a big question mark on the front cover but I kind of like the idea of writing “Once Upon a time”. Then on the inside flap, I want to actually write the question, but I can’t think of how to word it.
“I can’t say I do without you?”
“Will you do me the honor?”
What do you guys think? I want to keep a book theme, but I’m just having a really hard time. Anything related to stories would be good too. Help!

That’s a really cute idea! I’m giving these to my bridesmaids: http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/jandsjewellery/product/locket-necklace-made-with-swarovski-crystal
I’ve put them in a little box which says “I can’t say I do without you” and they are on a little card that says “will you be my bridesmaid”
I like the “once upon a time” idea, and I really like the phrase “I can’t say I do without you”
Maybe on the spine put their name and the wedding date?

Im making my girls boxes. Im putting things they like… fave chocolates /candies, ill put some nail pollish, lip gloss maybe. Other things I havent figured out yet. I didn’t see these boxes at michaels. I have 1 box for the Maid/Matron of Honor that is the size of a reg shoe box (colour same as yours) but the cover comes off. I like the idea of having a box like yours hmmmm… need to go check out Michael’s again.

Thanks! I was going to just do cigar boxes, but I am an English nerd and so are a lot of my friends. I want the theme of literature to run throughout the wedding (I want to make boutineers out of book pages, etc) and I thought this was a nice tie in. I’ll post a picture when I’m done. I like incorporating their name in it somehow too.
