Thank you. I always tell people to BREATHE as well. 🙂
I found a site called French Novelty that has a lot of designer dresses available at decent prices, right after I posted this. I think I will aim to use this site. Anyone ever used?
As for theme, I have played around with a love bird theme and also a coastal theme. The colors; coral, navy, grey and maybe blush. I want some type of pink or even a pinkish purple would be ok. I want this to be something that isn’t super fancy and stuffy, because that just isn’t my style. But rather something that is elegant yet casual, if at all possible. Had major regret over dress, almost bought another as felt too fancy for my taste. Decided to stick with it. The date is 9/6/15. Time is ticking! I have considered having them pick something out, have encouraged all of them to look online, share ideas. This was my way of saying I am open to ideas and there was minimal response. The person with the most input as far as being concerned about how things fit, etc., is my Maid/Matron of Honor but she hasn’t shared any dress ideas.
I have a FB group to communicate with them all. Yesterday I posted about going to a store to try dresses on, what do ppl think about buying online, me being open to different colors to make more options and also that if anyone wants to look online and share, feel free.
MOH’s response: I’m not going to lie I wouldn’t feel that comfortable ordering a dress online I don’t and wouldn’t even order a shirt online due to the fact that in the past when I have they didn’t fit right and or the sizes weren’t as described. Due to the many different body types in your wedding party I would think you would want to see the girls in the dress and get their input on comfort.
My reply: Please feel free, all of you – to note any deal breakers as far as style, material, etc., and I will do my best to please everyone. I am doing my best already to be mindful of many things where this is concerned, which in large part is the reason I haven’t been able to pick something. I want all of you to feel and look as beautiful as you all are!!! smile emoticon I have a hard enough time finding out what I want to wear myself, let alone pick for 7 different people. I have literally spent hours looking at ideas. Time is ticking and with so many other details remaining, this really needs to be checked off the to do list. I never imagined it would be this challenging. I literally had a melt down/major crying spell this morning. Lol. I am open to ideas, so if anyone wants to do their own research by looking for a dress they like (available in size range we’re working with) online , and/or one that is availabe in stores, feel free. I want something in a shade of pink that isn’t so light that it will be washed out. Something light but deep and vibrant, if that makes sense. Once I pick out a dress online, there will be a good chance that it will be available to try on at a store locally, since the site I am going to use has many designers available. And if this ends up being the case, then any of you can seek out a store to try the dress on. As for sizing, having measurements is key. Many sites I have found note if dress runs large or small. I also read reviews if they are available. I know with wedding gowns the general rule is to not get anything more than two sizes too big, so if anyone is concerned about size as far as being too small, you could always order larger and have altered.
In my opinion, if she has these concerns then she should be one to explore dresses and share. Also, being Maid/Matron of Honor I would think she would naturally step up so to speak. I don’t mind that she hasn’t done either, but I feel kind of discouraged by her comment given that she hasn’t stepped up, if that makes sense? She feels disgusted with her weight and I feel bad about that, but I can’t own that stress of hers. The girls that are larger than her, have literally told me they will wear anything I want them to.
