I think that’d make a lovely wedding dress for you… but I wouldn’t have it altered to be empire-waisted. That seems like a lot of work and the dress probably won’t be cut right. If you want an empire dress, it’s best to buy one that already is.

I actually love it as a wedding dress – so pretty! But somehow I feel like you shouldn’t have your BMs in the exact same dress. If you want them in a short dress, just find a similarly lacy short dress style that you won’t have to alter. There are many styles like that.

I think it looks like a great combination! I’d think twice about changing it to an empire waist though, be sure to try it on first and see how it fits (I personally find natural waisted dresses to be more flattering on curvier girls anyway). As far as length goes I like your plan to shorten the bridesmaids but I would go for knee length instead, tea length dresses just make most people look shorter by cutting the leg line at an unnatural point.

I have been looking at this dress too as well as the other in the color angel. Since my colors are gold, grey and peach the gold would be perfect. I am just worried about fit and if it will be flattering. It’s funny, we made our posts like 3 minutes apart.

svwedding:  I know how you feel about shape. I am a size 22. The narrowest part of my waist sits right under my muffin top so I like dresses to fit above the muffin top. I will have to try the dress on to see where it sits.

I was browsing bridesmaid dresses for my bridal party and came upon this one, and when I saw it in stores in ivory I thought it would have made for a lovely wedding dress. I think some bridesmaid dresses and even prom dresses in ivory/white can look very bridal for a cheaper price tag. But, to answer your question, I have to agree with a PP that your bridesmaid shouldn’t wear the exact dress in a different color/length, but rather something similar that compliments your dress. Just because it is your one big day and I feel like a bride should stand out and feel like it’s her dress. Very pretty dress btw! 🙂

A bride should stand out on her wedding day.
