amberback:  Absolutely.  I can see why the OP wants Empire , and it would suit her too, but that  dress  doesn’t look like it would easily alter to one  , evn by a skilled seamstress. There must  be more Empire lines out there , not  necessarily wedding dresses .

So you know db doesn’t make drastic changes to dresses. They have licenses with the designers and cannot take away from the integrity of the design. Agree with another pp that this might not be an easy change no matter who does the alterations. Garments are made based on patterns that allow for certain specs. If you have family that does alterations why not just buy fabric and have them make a custom gown? You can get the fit you like at a fraction of the cost of buying off the rack!
