My wedding is in June and I am second guessing my bridesmaid dress colours. I haven’t decided yet, but was thinking about having the girls in bright pink dresses. We are going in the next few weeks to pick them and order them.
I have determined my flowers and the overall look I’m going for is soft and romantic. My gown is the Karena Royale (Maggie Sottero) in ivory. The venue is at a golf course and the ceremony is outside on a roof top terrace. I’ve attached a picture of the reception room. My bouquet will be hot pink, pink and soft pink peonies and the bridesmaids flowers will be the opposite (ie. mostly soft pink peonies and a few hot pink).
The linens and decor of the venue will be ivory and simple. In terms of centre pieces I am having square vases with white hydragenas, green hydragenas and light pink and soft pink roses (image below).
The dress I’m looking at for the girls is a Bill Levkoff in watermelon-
Will a “watermelon”/fuscia colour dress look good with the rest of my decor? I’m having a hard time envisioning it all. Is the brigt pink too overdone?
Should I reconsider the colour?? What else will achieve the soft romantic, classic look I’m going for. I’m at a loss!! Please help!

I like the color you chose! And I think if everything else is a softer color then the maids will really stand out but that could be good or bad depending on what you want. If you want everything to be a little softer and romantic I would suggest a lighter pink or soft coral color. I still think the bright pink is very pretty though 🙂

Have you seen an actual fabric swatch? Sometimes colors are slightly misrepresented online.
I think it’s difficult to pull off hot pink with “soft romantic/classic/timeless”, but that is just my opinion and YMMV.
Online the watermelon color is a real eye-grabbing color for July and works with the season.
I know it’s not fitting your vision, but the same dress in Cornflower or Amethyst would seem more fitting to my eye for the “soft floral romantic” thing. Jim Hjelm did a lot of his dress shoots with a similar theme/idea last year, so maybe take a look at some of those for ideas.

Thanks for the reply. I went Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping last week with some of my maids and found that the watermelon in that dress was too bright and the dress itself didn’t suit one of my maids. I did find this dress by Bill Levkoff and fell in love with it.
I am trying to go for the overall romantic soft look and have decided to change my Bridesmaid or Best Man dress colour to a softer pink. This dress looks great on all my maids and now I’m just trying to decide on the colour.
I’m debating between Sherbet or Rose. The colours on the site are hard to visualize and seeing the colour swatch is even harder! I’ve tried to find other stores that carry Bill Levkoff in my area and no luck. And I can’t seem to find any pictures of the Rose colour in the Luminiscent Chiffon online.
A Bee did use the Sherbet colour in her wedding and I’ve seen pictures, but I’m wondering if that is too “bubble gum” pink. But is the rose more on the purple/mauve side?
I’m leading toward the Rose but wonder what colour flowers for the bouquets would work. I think my centre pieces (in the picutre above) would still work with the Rose colour.

@skylar1224: I like the blush/rose flowers in the bouquet (with the ivories and whites and other colors in the arrangements – those are gorgeous!!) with rose-colored Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses – rose is such a nice, soft color that looks good on everyone.
That dress you picked out is so lovely!! It’s really hard to tell from online (because colors seem to always look different in-person) but I would guess that sherbert is brighter, and rose is more muted – and I would pick rose if you want a soft, romantic look.

Thanks for the response. What colour bridesmaid bouquet flowers and bride bouquet flowers would wink good with the rose Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and the above picture as the table centre pieces???
Im thinking peonies for the bouquets…..but could change.
