I have a very small wedding party. I have a Matron of Honor, a Maid of Honor, and one bridesmaid. I’ve been trying for months to get everyone together to go and look at dresses and they’ve always had something to do. Well I finally got them to pick a day to go and look at them and my Maid of Honor (my sister) couldn’t go and said it was because she wanted to wait till she got her tax money so she knew what she could afford. Because I had 2 of them already with the green light, we went ahead to the shop and tried on dresses.
I explained to them that they didn’t have to get the same dress, just the same color and style because everyone has different body types. Then, they both surprisingly picked the same dress and it looked great on them both. They went ahead and bought their dresses and I sent the dress to my sister (MOH) and she said she loved it as well. Then when I told her the price, she said that was way too much and wanted to know if it was possible if she could get a different dress that was cheaper. I don’t have a problem with that, but if she gets a different dress, then my Matron of Honor will match my bridesmaid and it will look weird and I worry that my Matron of Honor will feel like she’s not special.
I thought about switching my sister and making her a bridesmaid and then promote the bridesmaid to Maid of Honor (technically she’s more financially stable and she has done A LOT of work for me already) but I worry that might upset my sister if I did.
With my bridesmaid dresses coming from David’s Bridal, their dress colors look like they will be so hard to match with other dresses. What are your thoughts on this matter?
