I have a similar situation, but if you are getting dresses from a bridal shop, most of them will take down the girls’ names and which dress, and they can just call with their measurements. Then once everyone’s called, the shop places the order so the dresses all come from the same dye lot. The couple of stores I spoke to about it will even ship the dresses once they’re in for a small fee. That’s what I’m doing, since all my girls are scattered across the country.

I did what violete did as well. All my girls were in different states, and once we decided on a dress, I went to a local store near me, gave them the girls’ measurements and told the girls to call in with their CC info by a certain date. Once the store had the CC info for all the girls, the store ordered them, and shipped them all to the girls’ houses (shipping was an extra 10 bucks per dress).

I didn’t want to risk the dye lots, either. I googled it and read horror stories and it was one less thing I wanted to worry about.

I ran into this as well.  My mom found an online retailer (that was actually cheaper than the bridal shop).  Each girl went and got measured on their own and placed their order online.  The retailer kept in contact with me and placed the order all at one time once every girl ordered their dress. I just gave them all a deadline in order to make sure they had enough time (however, no one abided by it at all.  My Maid/Matron of Honor was 2 months late.  But, whatever…)

I’m having my gals by their dresses wherever they are cause they’re all spread out in the south.  I’m not worried about dye lots because each individual vendor has their own standards they adhere to as for dyes.  I mean the color may be “under a microscope” off, but not enough to compromise I believe the integrity of their company’s colors or reputation.  Maybe I’m too easy going, but we’ll find out 🙂

we’re ordering all of my bridesmaid dresses from the same shop where i ordered my dress from. the girls that live out of state are going to send me their measurements taken at a bridal store that is local to them. apparently, my aunt said that their local store in CA will measure you for $10. i guess it only makes sense that they want to make some money off of your visit, since you’re not buying the dress there. i don’t know if it’s that way across the board though?

All my girls live pretty close except one.  Three of them came with me and picked out dresses all by Alfred Angelo… the 4th Bridesmaid or Best Man just went to a local place to get measured and then gave me the meaurements.  We’re going to order them all fromt he same place and get a 10% discount too. 🙂  The lady at my Bridal Shop even mentioned the dye lot thing.  I’m not taking any chances!!! 🙂

My bm’s are scattered in different states and I’m having them order their dresses locally.  I don’t care if the shades are off a tad
