so my theme is ombre!! everything will be fading from dark to light
and one way were exhibiting this theme is that all of the bridesmaids dresses will be the same exact style but in different tones of green and the girls will stand in order from dark to light. since my main color is green its so hard to find more than 3 shades of green in the same tone that blend with each other.
I have 4 bridesmaids and i was wondering if you guys would think it would look wierd to have the 3 girls have the same dress in different tones like i said (from dark to light) and my Maid/Matron of Honor have a different color all together like champagne (my accent color). i know sometimes brides have their Maid/Matron of Honor in a different dress all together or a different color from the rest of the girls..but since my theme is ombre i feel like it might not work…
what do you think?

I think it’s doable! It might be hard, but I think it’ll be doable. Maybe give them a sense of unity with the same style dress and same color shoes?

I think it could work – another idea would be to have your Maid/Matron of Honor wearing black or other dark color – which would help with the fade from dark to light.
I think keeping the fabric material (such as silk or chiffon, or whatever you want) the same with all the dresses will be a key for success.

I think the key to ombre would be to keep as many factors the same and only change one or two factors.
Example: since they’ll be in different shades of color as long as you keep the dress length and fabric the same I think it will look fantastic. I think you should keep their shoes and flowers the same.
I think you could even do slightly different dress styles as long as they are the same length and fabric type

Or you could do something like this.

yeah i plan on having unity by having the girls in the same exact dresses but just differnt colors

I don’t have any idea the style of dresses you’re interested in, but lots of the Bari Jay styles have 4 tones of green available, like this one.
Now of course in person they might be ugly together, but you could at least to look at the swatches, then your Maid/Matron of Honor would be in sage, then forest, to emerald and lastly hunter.
Otherwise I think the champagne would be perfectly nice with green tones.

@rpalao: First off we have the same wedding date 9/1/13!! I’m OBSSESSED with ombre and plan to do something very similar. Same dress but different shades. I too was thinking to have my Maid/Matron of Honor in a different color completely but she mentioned that maybe that would be too much and stick out to the point of distracting from the main event .. ME! lol – I would have neever even thought of that but it was an interesting point. Something to consider though. 🙂
