So, I originally told my bridesmaids they could choose their own dresses as long as they were the same designer/colour/fabric. Two of the bridesmaids chose an Alfred Sung scoop neck dress, and my maid of honour and a bridesmaid chose an Alfred Sung sweetheart neck. Yes, I’m making them wear grey 🙂
I assumed when I came up with the idea that everybody would choose a different dress.
Do you guys think it’s going to look weird to be two and two? I’m thinking of getting the bridesmaid who chose the same dress as maid of honour to choose the same dress as the other two bridesmaids (she didn’t mind the other option, just slight preference to the sweetheart)

Are you concerned that the Maid/Matron of Honor and a Bridesmaid or Best Man are wearing the same dress? Or that all there are only two styles between everyone? Or something else?

I don’t think it would be a problem at all. Just alternate them when you have them stand up with you and for pictures. I think it would look great.

I don’t think it would be a problem at all. To be honest people probably won’t even notice. Sometimes us brides get hung up on things that only we will notice 🙂 I know I do that a lot.

You’re right, I think it’s nothing to worry about. I just never thought that with all the options out there, we’d only come up with two dresses.
I’m having my sister as my Maid/Matron of Honor, and two best friends and my Future Sister-In-Law as bridesmaids. One of my friends has always been a little competitive with my other friend about who’s my BEST best friend. I have a tiny twinge that says she picked the same dress as the maid of honour to make it look like she’s “more important” than the bridesmaid who picked the same dress as my Future Sister-In-Law.

Yeah I let my BMs choose basically any black dress and we all went to try them on together. They all ended up picking the same one. I think 2 and 2 will be cute. I think the Maid/Matron of Honor should either wear something or carry a different bouquet to make her stand out if that is something you care about. I assumed my Maid/Matron of Honor would pick a different dress than the other BMs because of the height difference but they all liked the same one. I’m just having the MOHs bouquet be a little bigger.

Well, now my maid of honour has jumped ships and decided she likes the first dress best as well. So, I guess everybody will be wearing the same dress after all, which is totally fine by me, it’s actually my favourite dress out of everything we saw. 🙂
It’s just so funny… I was in a wedding back in 2002 with really bad identical bridesmaid dresses, and I’d SWORN since then that I would let my bridesmaids pick any dress they wanted in the same colour, WAY before it was a popular thing to do. And guess who ends up with four bridesmaids in the same dress!
